Chapter 40

Susannah's POV

I got back from breakfast before going to Jamie's place to get a car for me. I got ready at his place before I drove back to campus to pick up Kyle and classes. I was meeting Kyle's family today when we picked them up at the airport. Tyler was coming with us, as Ashley and her parents were going to a Stars practice where I had Kyle and his two brothers. Then we were going to hang out at Tyler's place. I knew Kyle was nervous about the whole thing. I went to my classes before I went to his room and smiled as he opened up the door.

"Hey." I laugh as we kiss.

"Hey. You ready?" He asks and I nod smiling

"Are you?" I ask

"Yeah. It's just weird. The whole deal. I don't know." He sighs as we walk down to the car Jamie was letting me borrow since Cassidy had our car with Liam.

"I know." I kiss his cheek as I get into the car. I drive to the airport and park next to Tyler who had just gotten there as well.

"Hey." He smiles to me before he hugs me.

"Hey." Kyle says as he gets out of the car a minute later.

"Hey. How are you?" He asks

"Good. You?"

"So excited." He laughs as we go to baggage claim. I sit in between them as we wait for Kyle's family to come out in silence. I knew Kyle HATED Tyler, like more than anyone else. I would try to talk to either of them, but the conversation would just end within moments. I see him get up mid-sentence as I guess he sees his family. I start to recognize them from photos so Tyler and I get up as well. I see Ashley whisper something to her mom before a big smile spreads across her face. Tyler and I stay back a bit as he hugs everyone.

"Yeah, so, everyone, this is my girlfriend, Susannah." Kyle smiles and I laugh

"Hey." I smile before his mom hugs me, "It's so nice to finally meet you Mrs. Smith." I say

"Oh. Call me Karen." She laughs, "That is Richard." She refers to her husband, "And you know the twins Eric and Fred. Then Ashley of course." Ashley was busy talking with Tyler who was just as engaged in the conversation as she was.

"It's really nice to meet all of you." I laugh, "Well in person."

"So, Susannah, Eric, Fred, and I are going to take all the luggage to the hotel. Tyler's taking Ash, dad, and you to practice." Kyle says before we go our separate ways

"So, how did you get in contact with the Tyler Seguin? I mean according to Ashley, you're all over his instagram, and he's all over yours. Kyle told us you set it all up." Fred says laughing as we put all of the stuff into the back of Jamie's Audi SUV.

"My brother is Jamie Benn. He's the captain of the Stars. We're also family friends with the Seguins." I smile, "And, um, yeah. We dated for a bit, but we're really good friends now." I explain as I look at Kyle's face who seemed okay with that response.

"Yeah. It's all cool now. We're all friends." He says and I smile

"Yeah right." Fred laughs, "You're not that chill."

"I am." Kyle says and both Eric and Fred laugh

"Whatever." Eric laughs as we go to their hotel. We get them checked in before they go up to their room, "So what are your plans for tonight?"

"We're getting dinner as a family plus a few of the Stars and Susannah. Then the Stars' game tomorrow."

"So, we're not doing anything relatively fun?" Fred groans
