Chapter 13

Tyler's POV

I went to all of Susannah's games that were on campus, and she would occasionally show up at my practices with Cassidy.

It was almost the season opener and I was very nervous. It was nerve-wracking to start the season, as much as it was exciting.

I saw Liam walking over to John Klingberg in his locker. I think he fell at practice or got hit with a puck, honestly not sure. Liam smiled at me and I nodded right back. He and Cassidy were going very slow as neither of them wanted to get hurt.

I went back to my house and I found it weird the dogs weren't running towards me.

"Marshall? Cash?" I call out

"They're in the kitchen with me!" Susannah calls out and I laugh as I walk in.

"Hey." I smile and we kiss happily, "Don't you have class or practice?" I raise an eyebrow

"My professor canceled my 3 o'clock. I had practice at 7 am. I just have to be back on campus by 4." She laughs and I smile while we hug. I hadn't seen her in a few days, she'd been really busy with practice, an away game, and school.

"And look, it's only 11." I smile while we make out. I hear the oven go off and she smiles.

"It's just chicken and a salad." She laughs

"You're amazing." I sigh and she nods. We make our bowls before we sit down.

"So how are you feeling?" She asks me

"Nervous, but good." I smile, "You'll be there Thursday right?" I ask

"Yes. I mean I'm in the box now." She giggles and I laugh while we kiss, "I have a game Friday, so no practice. I was just thinking I could spend the night."

"I would love that." I smile and she winks at me.

We eat before we both clean up. Susannah gives the rest of the chicken to the dogs and they eagerly eat it.

She gets a call and she groans as she takes it

"I'll be back." She kisses my cheek before walking off. About ten minutes later she comes back, "Klingberg called me because no one was picking up." She laughs

"Why does he have your number?" I ask crossing my arms

"Because we're dating." She jokes and pecks my lips. I laugh rolling my eyes

"What's wrong with him?" I ask

"He needs someone to pick him up from the hospital. Let's go." She says and I groan.

"Fine." I pout as I grab my keys and we head out. I drive to the hospital, and we go into the UrgentCare, "What are you doing here John?" I laugh and I cover Susannah's eyes as he was laying on the table naked with a blanket covering him up.

"I got hit with a puck in the testicles." He laughs as a young nurse, who was wearing college scrubs came in.

"Susannah?" She asks

"Hannah!" Susannah removes my hand from her eyes

"How do you two know each other?" John asks

"We're in the same Italian class." Hannah smiles, "We sit next to each other and are in a group project together. How do you know Mr. Klingberg?"

"I'm his teammate." I say, "Is he good to go?"

"Uh, yes. I was just giving him his discharge papers. You should come back tomorrow. Um, just to make sure everything is healing well." She blushes and I give Susannah a look. She bites her lip trying not to laugh.
