"It's funny you know, how these little Muggle things hold so much power" Draco said holding the cigarette between his pale slender fingers. I didn't say anything.

"Do lots of muggles smoke?" Draco asked. I shrugged my shoulders,

"Some do but it's not something people strive to do" I said looking at Draco hold the fag to his lips.

"Why ever not?" Draco said looking surprised.

"They are marvellous little things, one drag and you feel so much better, like everything dulls down" Draco continued.

"Well they're pretty bad for your health" I said with shaking breath. I sat down next to Draco on the floor.

"Well that doesn't matter, I'm an image of health anyway" Draco said chuckling. I paused before saying,

"you've never eaten a whole meal, you get horrifically injured from your many adventures and you pump tar into your body, so no you're not the image of health." I said this all very quickly. Draco stopped and looked at me. He held my head in his hands.

"What's wrong?" He said gently. I started to tear up,

"I just.....I just don't want to lose you" I said as tears began to tumble down my face. I wrapped my arms around Draco and nestled my head into his shoulder. He rubbed my back. Draco wasn't the best at hugging but his eagerness to improve made them hundred times better than any normal hug.

He pulled me off him and held my shoulders.

"You will never ever lose me" he said looking me in the eyes. I nodded whilst trying to hold back the tears.

"Please don't worry about that" he said as his eyes began to water.

"Potter you have saved me...I would be dead without you" he said looking at the floor. I held his chin up

"what do you mean?" I said as my lip quivered.

Draco took a deep breath in. By this time he had discarded of his cigarette.

"That day.." he gulped, "that day, when you found me, I was going to do it" Draco said as his voice cracked. My heart started to beat faster.

"Do what?" I said trying to hide how frantic I was. I watched as a single tear slid down Draco's face. He bit his lip.

"I was going to end it" Draco finally said.

"What?" I crocked. I was a slobbering mess by now, but I didn't care. It felt like someone had ripped my heart out from my chest. I held Draco closer to me. His shoulders shook up and down as he dampened my shirt. I stroked Draco's hair.

"I wasn't going to tell you" he mumbled.

"Why" I whispered.

"Because I didn't want to hurt you" he murmured.

I held Draco closer still, If I didn't hold him close enough it felt like he would float away. We sat on the floor in a tangled mess for many moments, each one of us too scared to let the other one go.

After a while Draco slowly let go of me and held my hands. He looked at me with his grey eyes pulling me into his spell.

"It was my father" Draco whispered. I didn't say anything, Draco's voice sounded to raw.

"He said that he would tell my mother about what he found in my room. He did awful things to me when he found them, he, he burnt me, but on the soles of my feet so nobody would ever see them. He said I needed to be taught a lesson and now have a constant reminder that I am broken, that I am damaged goods" Draco paused to catch his breath.

"I didn't understand why I was alive, I can't do anything right, I was a waste of air and nobody would miss me. Especially not my parents." Draco stared blankly at the floor. I gulped and whispered,

"what did he find?" Draco was shaking, the expression on his face suggested he was reliving the experience. He bit so hard on his lip that it stared to bleed.

"Magazines....magazines of men."

Draco looked up at me and his lips bashed against mine. The kiss was messy, Draco held on to my jaw and I stroked  his back. After a little while the kiss became slower and more romantic. Draco pulled back,

"I live for you Potter."
