Tw- homophobia

We sat at the Gryffindor table for dinner, apart from Draco who sat with the Slytherins. He didn't want to talk to or be around Seamus.

Hermione and Ginny were sat at the far end of the table, presumably discussing suitable boys.

Neville wasn't talking as he never did when there was tension in the air.

I looked around at my disgruntled, and quickly disintegrating, group of friends.

I stood up, seemingly without consideration, it was as if my body was doing the thinking for me.

I walked over to the Ravenclaw table, to where Cho and her friends were sitting.

"Harry," she said as I approached.

"Hi, Cho," I said as the catastrophic nature of what I was doing caught up with me.

She waited for me to say something.

"I don't like you Cho" I blurted out.

The hall fell silent.

I don't know how it happens so quickly, but it's annoying, you can't have a conversation without everyone listening.

I couldn't look at Draco or my friends, I had to do this by myself.

"What?" She asked with a mixture of surprise, disgust, and sadness.

"I can't like you, I'm gay, I'm going out with Draco, but you completely disregarded that. You had no respect for my identity or Draco's feelings" I said quickly but clearly.

"I thought you could be turned" she muttered, though loud enough so that everyone could hear.

Instead of becoming regretful she became aggressive.

Draco filled my head and swirled around it.

W.W.D.M.D

What Would Draco Malfoy Do?

"Cho don't flatter yourself, you'd struggle to turn a troll's head," I said confidently.

The words in my head were Draco's but the voice was mine.

"Real mature" she said sarcastically, obviously struggling.

"No, I'll tell you what's immature, trying to turn gay men, it's presumptive, disrespectful, and narcissistic," I said getting annoyed.

She stayed silent,

"But do you want to know what's worse, it's homophobic. Just because you aren't beating us up, or calling us fags it doesn't mean you can't be homophobic, it's people like you, with your snarky comments, and holy than tho attitude, that creates an atmosphere that allows such awful behaviour" I said without raising my voice, the sheer power of my words was enough.

"But don't worry, it's not all you" I started, not able to stop now.

"See Crabbe and Goyle, there're to thick to even know what to think, so they let others do it for them," I said turning to the pair.

I saw them sit there fuming, but what could they do in front of every student and teacher in this school?

"But I'll tell you who's worst, don't worry Cho it's not you," I said looking back at her,

"Or even you two thick-skulled primates," I said turning back to Crabbe and Goyle.

I couldn't end the performance without the grand finale.

I turned to him, to the man himself.

Professor Snape.

"But it's you isn't it Professor?" I said bluntly.

Audible gasps could be heard throughout the hall.

He got up, his black cape moving under him.

His face grew twisted with anger and humiliation.

"If you can get away with it, why bother stopping? If there are no boundaries, why follow your own?" I said, starting to believe that this couldn't be real.

"That's what you hate isn't it Professor, others happiness. You hate people being their true self, with freedom and autonomy.

It's not just the gay couples of this school that you hate, it's every single one.

You hate not having what others have.

That's why you hated my mother and father, and why they, especially my mother, were repulsed with the sheer thought of you!" I shouted, shaking with anger.

He began to prowl towards me, rapidly.

I stood my ground, not wanting to move, unable to move.

He clutched his wand in his cloak.

Just as he was three steps away, McGonagall appeared in front of me.

"Not the boy," she said sternly to him.

I was taken aback by her sudden appearance.

He scowled at me but walked out with McGonagall.

Silence held the room.

Then,

Everyone started to clap, everyone.

I think I even saw a few teachers give a quick few.

I looked around.

This couldn't be real, it had to be happening in my head, I was going to be murdered.

Something grabbed my arm and began dragging me.

Lupin,

I looked up at him. He was biting his bottom lip holding a smile.

They started to chant.

"HARRY, HARRY, HARRY"

                               "POTTAH"

I heard a voice scream, it was Draco he was stood in the table, clapping, the image of pride plastered on his face.

"You've started a revolution" Lupin muttered.
