"How are you going to write?" I asked quietly.
"I'll just use my other hand" Draco said picking up his quill with his left hand. I raised an eyebrow but reserved my judgment. He put pen to paper and started to scratch away. At first he had to write really slowly, but he gradually started to pick up the pace. It wasn't especially messy but it was definitely worse compared to Draco's normally immaculate handwriting.
I held on to Draco's hand, grateful that I now wouldn't have a reason to let go. I think McGonagall may have noticed Draco using his other hand but she made no comment.
The lesson rattled on and I had eventually made copious amounts of notes on subjects including: cross-species transfigurations and vanishing spells. Lunch time was drawing ever nearer and I could tell Seamus was itching for an update on Ron and Hermione.
As we all rushed out of he classroom McGonagall's voice carried out into the corridor,
"Don't forget to study." As we were walking to the great hall I began to fill the boys in.
"So Ron's a lot better, they've got him doing school work though" I said quietly.
"Ahh I knew they would've" Seamus said shaking his head.
"What about Hermione?" Draco asked.
"We don't know, they haven't let Ron see her and Madam Pomfrey told me nothing" I said walking and sitting at the Gryfinndor table.
"That's ridiculous" Dean said.
"I hope she's recovering" Neville squeaked.
"Well if I know Hermione, she won't be giving up anytime soon" Draco said looking sympathetically at Neville. He smiled at Draco's kind comment.
We all tucked into lunch whilst the conversation flowed.
"What have we got next?" Seamus asked.
"Flying" Draco replied.
"Nice" Dean said enthusiastically. After finding we all got up and headed out of the hall. As we reached the corridor Draco turned to me and said,
"I'll catch you guys up, my broom is in my dorm." We all murmured sounds of agreement and walked in our separate directions.
When we were further down the corridor Dean said to Seamus,
"isn't your broom in Gryfinndor?" Annoyance filled Seamus' face.
"Yeah it is" he said deflated. He grunted before speed walking towards the common room.
"And then there were two" Dean said smiling at me.
"Is your broom down there too?" I asked. "Yeah, I always leave it in the changing room" he replied.
I looked for things to say but Dean beat me to it.
"So how are you and Draco?" he asked genuinely wondering.
"Good, yeah it's all good. Amazing really" I said now beaming.
"Well that's nice to hear" Dean said in a congratulatory manor.
"Yeah, well anyway, how are you and Seamus?" I asked returning the question.
"Good, thanks for asking. Now that you've finally noticed" he said with a cheeky grin.
"Yeah about that, how long was it before I realised?" I said rubbing the back of my neck with embarrassment.
"I'm not sure, maybe a year or so" he replied with that same smile.
"Ahh, Sorry" I said as my cheeks burned.
"No don't worry, it was a bit of a game. To be fair, we never announced it" he said shrugging his shoulders.
"Guys!" A voice said behind us. We both turned to see Draco jogging down the corridor.
"So what did I miss?" He asked holding his broom in one hand and wrapping his other around my shoulders.
"Just how oblivious I am" I answered.
"Oh about Dean and Seamus?" Draco said looking at Dean and then back at me.
"Yeah, did you know?" I asked wanting to not be the only one in the dark.
"What kind of question is that? Of course!" Draco said whilst Dean chuckled.
"My gaydar has never, and will never be wrong" He said winking at me. I rolled my eyes. Draco looked around and said, "wait where's Seamus?"
"He went to get his broom" Dean replied still smiling from Draco's comment.
We eventually reached the quidditch changing rooms. As both Draco and I were on our respective quidditch teams we had our bags under our pegs. Dean went to his cubby to get his. Seamus walked in out of breath and threw his bag next to ours.
"What's happening with that?" Dean said pointing at Draco's peg and name.
"I'm not sure to be honest, I'm the best seeker in Slytherin so they can't really replace me" Draco said shrugging his shoulders.
"Are you still on the team?" Seamus asked.
"Technically yes, I was on leave for my injury but that's over know, but we don't have a match until during our mocks" he said beginning to get changed.
I took off my shirt and pulled on my Gryfinndor top,
"I hope Ron's better before the next match" I said.
"Yeah we've still got to redo the Slytherin match" Seamus said, his voice got quieter towards he end of his sentence when he realised it might be a touchy subject for Draco.
"Yeah Potter, I've still got to beat you and your silly little team" Draco said with a smirk.
