Draco shuffled his weight from foot to foot. I stepped back and put my hand on Draco's shoulder in an effort to relax him,
"this is Draco, Mrs Weasley" I said introducing him.
"Of course, lovely to meet you" Mrs Weasley said with a smile. Draco reached out his hand for a hand shake but molly ignored his outstretched arm and embraced him in a hug.
"Thank you" Draco said quietly. Molly nodded.
"Ron I've hope you've brought home some books for revision!" She said turning to a shocked Ron,
"mum it's only for a week" he said before pressing his lips together.
"I'm sure Draco and Harry have brought books that you can share" she said gesturing towards us.
"Mmmm" Ron said as his plans for quidditch every day were ruined. The rest of the Weasley's congregated on the platform to be met with a hug from Mrs Weasley and a ruffle of the hair from Mr Weasley.
When we arrived at the burrow Draco was taken aback by the many levels, presumably only being held up by magic. We entered to see sponges washing pots and pans. Draco was surprised once again by their lack of a house elf.
"It's not much but it's home" Ron said to Draco,
"I think it's brilliant" he replied smiling.
The twins immediately ran in and sat on the sofas. There was a letter from Hogwarts on the table. Mrs Weasley opened it,
"if I get one more letter telling me you've both blown up a toilet I will loose it" she said angry. Fred and George quickly scarpered off to their bedrooms.
"Right boys, you get yourselves unpacked and I'll start on dinner" we walked past the cluttered array of furniture and up the wonky stairs. Ron showed us to his room where molly had made up a bed for me and Draco on the floor. That was the thing about the Weasley's, they had very little, but everything they did have they were more than willing to share.
"You can put your trunks over there" Ron said gesturing to a corner of his room before he flopped onto his bed. He reached into his bedside table and grabbed a set of cards,
"wanna play poker?" Ron Asked.
"Sure but I've got no money to bet with" Draco said. Ron looked confused,
"what do you mean?" He finally said. We were sitting on the floor in a circle at this point.
"My parents took all of the money out of my account and banned me from accessing theirs" Draco said shuffling the cards.
"I can't say I'm surprised, your parents were always horrid" Ron replied taking the cards form Draco and dishing them out. The cards looked normal but the pictures on them moved and even spoke. Draco nodded before saying,
"yup, they always have been and always will be." I wasn't sure what I should say. So we just started to play the game instead of addressing the awkwardness.
A hour or so passed by before molly shouted up the stairs,
"BOYS THE DINNER IS READY."
We all rushed down stairs and sat down. The chairs around the table didn't match but that didn't matter. Percy ate in his bedroom but apart from him all of the Weasley's were here, well apart from Bill and Charlie.
"Ahh Harry you're joining us for the break" Arthur said. His eyes then stopped at Draco,
"hello Draco how are you?" He asked looking concerned for him.
"I'm alright thank you Mr Weasley" Draco replied quietly. He got shy around the Weasley family.
"That's good, And please call me Arthur" he replied smiling. Draco nodded timidly. I put my hand on his thigh and he put his hand on top of mine. Molly came out carrying a large pot of soup, some plates of bread floated behind her and placed themselves on the table.
"Thank you Mrs Weasley" Draco said.
"Yeah it looks great" the twins said in unison.
"Thank you boys" she replied beaming. We sat, ate and laughed together. The meal was interrupted by an owl tapping its beak on the glass window. Ron got up to let it in, it flew to Ginny and dropped a letter on her lap before swiftly flying away. The owl was black and had green eyes. Everyone was silent as Ginny opened the letter, she glanced over it and gave a very very small smile.
"May I be excused?" Ginny asked.
"Of course" molly replied.
"Is everything alright?" Arthur asked.
"Yes everything's fine" Ginny replied running up the stairs.
Everyone looked around each confused as the other. I however had a sneaking suspicion who's the letter was from.
