Kindness

I let everyone else rush over first.

They put a bit of parchment on the wall telling everybody what they got, for just people in their house. Next to that was the leaderboard for the entire year group

1. Hermione Granger
2. Draco Malfoy
3. Harry Potter
4. Dean Thomas

And the list went on to another six names.

I was chuffed with my position. I knew Draco would be happy as well. I wonder what grade I got for potions. I didn't look because I didn't need that disappointment at the moment.

Dean did a little cheer.

***

Dinner time rolled around and we all walked to the great hall together. Draco was sitting at the Gryfinndor table with his collection of bauxbaton girls and one boy this time. He was stunning. He had a sharp jawline, high cheekbones, a typically European nose and curly brown hair. His hair had a side part and ended just before his jaw, he looked angel-like.

Like a Greek statue.

I sat next to Draco.

"Well done," I said wrapping my arm around his waist.

"Always under me aren't you" he whispered into my ear. His cool breath tickled against my skin.

He turned and pointed to the boy,

"This is timothèe by the way"

The boy bowed his head gracefully.

"He is a fellow homosexual and it's my job to find him a date," Draco said giving the boy a playful half-smile.

"Uhh yes please," he said in a gorgeous French accent.

He was beautiful, and French, I don't see why this was hard for him.

"Why do you need Draco's help, you could get any gay in this room," I said politely, wondering when I had basically become Draco.

The boy's lips pressed together.

"Timothèe is an introvert, so he has employed the skills of your favourite extrovert," he said patting Timothee on the shoulder.

"Fair enough, what is it you're looking for?" I asked.

"I do not mind about the school, I would hopefully prefer a tall boy, dirty blond hair, sun-kissed, jawline, cheekbones and uh yes," he said, listing off the qualities.

"So basically Cedric Digory" Seamus said leaning into our conversation.

"Uh I wouldn't mind, but I hear there is a long line for such a boy, so preferably someone more achievable this side of the century," he said shrugging his shoulders.

This was good, he's got a sense of humour, in a second language as well.

"Not to worry Timothèe, leave it to me," Draco said giving him a wink.

He really seemed to enjoy this gay fairy godfather role.

I was anticipant of our second training match, we had our first match tomorrow. Wood was nowhere to be seen, he probably had his head in a book or was working out. He never stopped.

I can't imagine him doing anything but quidditch.

***

The great hall lulled, I kissed Draco on the head and walked to the quidditch changing rooms.

Fred, George and Wood were already in there.

"Hello, Harry" Fred and George said, both waving.

"Hi, guys," I said going over to my bag to put my pads on.

"Wood is worried" Fred whispered as he passed me.

I turned to look at him, when wasn't Wood worried?

But Fred was right, he did look like he was especially worried.

"Alright Wood," I said hoping he'd tell me.

"Yep yep," he said without moving his eyes.

The rest of the team rolled in and Wood snapped out of it.

"Right, let's get training," he said clapping his hands.

We all walked out onto the pitch, it was starting to get dark, Wood waved his wand and the whole pitch lit up, it didn't seem like there was a source of this light, at least I couldn't see one.

That was some seriously advanced magic.

Madam Hooch walked out with a clipboard floating next to her which had a quill ticking off all of our names.

"Some impressive magic here Wood," she said looking around.

It was like he turned the sun up a bit.

"Does this light up the whole world a bit more?" I asked Cedric.

He chuckled,

"No no, the Clara charm it has a limited range, it's like an advanced Lumos" he explained.

"Why does she always just assume it's Wood?" Flint grumbled.

"Because it often is," Cedric said patting his back.

Flint looked at up and Cedric gave him a warm smile.

"I guess you're right," he said looking back down again.

That was it! Cedric, he's what could bring the team together. His kindness and knowledge are exactly what this team was lacking, we didn't have enough Hufflepuffs or at least enough of a Hufflepuff attitude.

The courage and cunningness could come later, we had enough of a Gryfinndor and Slytherin presence to achieve that, but what we needed right now was to think more like a Hufflepuff.

W.W.H.D?

What would Hufflepuffs do?

It was quite a stark juxtaposition to my other acronym,

W.W.D.M.D?

I walked over to Wood who was stretching, I held my hand up to cover my mouth,

"Hufflepuff, Hufflepuff is what we need right now" I whispered.

Woods ears pricked up and he stood up straight,

"Right everyone today we are going to learn how to force a play to help another teammate in trouble" he shouted to us all.

He turned back to me,

"Thanks, Harry, you were really thinking like a team player there. Captain material" he said with a wink.

I smiled back, he gave me a pat on the shoulder and we both mounted our brooms.

"Right everyone, I'll teach you a move to help out chasers, we all know they need all the help they can get" he shouted out, a smile grew as he spoke.

The chasers pretended to be annoyed but their own smiles where clear to be seen on their own faces.

Chambers and Cedric flew higher with the rest of the team, I looked down and saw Wood give Flint a wink before, they too, flew higher.
