I swam to the edge of the pool and pulled myself out, Draco followed. He grabbed his wand and gave it a little wave. Hot air rushed over my body and dried our hair. As I was getting dressed I put on my Gryfinndor tie and Draco put on his Slytherin one.
"We should swap clothes more often" he remarked. I just replied with a smile.
"Ahh mustn't forget these" Draco said picking up the bottle of pills.
"Would you like to do the honours?" He asked.
"Sure" I replied as I took the bottle form his outstretched hand. I walked over to the toilets and pored the pills in. I pulled the handle and the pills were flushed away.
"Well that's that" Draco said rubbing my back.
He slipped his fingers in between mine as we walked out. Nobody was in the corridor.
"I completely forgot we had lessons" Draco said his mouth open with shock.
"Where are we meant to be now?" I asked.
"Charms I think" Draco said trying to remember the time table.
"Well there's no point in going now, it's probably almost over. What's after charms?" I said as we walked down the corridor our hands still together.
"Potions" Draco said with a lowered voice.
"Ugh kill me now" I whispered. Draco smiled before saying, "it's not like you do anything anyway."
"That's not the point, the subject itself is alright, Snape is the problem" I mumbled.
"Aww don't worry little Potter, Draco will stand up for you against the big bad Snape" Draco said in a baby voice as he rubbed my head. I just rolled my eyes.
We got to the classroom and a couple of people were already outside waiting to be let in. Dean and Seamus were among them.
"Hey Harry, over here" Seamus said gesturing for us to come over. Dean removed his arm from where it was before, resting on Seamus' head.
"How's Ron and Hermione?" Dean asked keeping his voice down.
"After we took Ron to the hospital wing I went back to Gryfinndor to check on Hermione. She was in a bad state, like really bad" I said to the boys in an almost whisper.
"We found out that she was taking these muggle study drugs and that's why her mood was so off" Draco said continuing the story.
"We eventually got them off her and flushed them" I jumped in.
"So where is she now?" Seamus asked.
"In her dorm, being looked after by Myrtle" Draco answered.
"That's not a bad idea" Dean said.
The babble came to a sudden silence. I knew who had arrived.
"Mr Potter and Mr Malfoy what a pleasure for you to come and join us, we are all most grateful" Snape said in his sarcastic and sinister tone. He must have heard about mine and Draco's absence from charms. Both of us decided that it was best not to reply.
Monotonously everyone trudged into the basement classroom and shuffled to their seats. Once everyone had sat down Snape glared around the room before saying,
"where's Weasley and that insufferable know-it-all." Everyone looked around, they must have seen the ruckus at breakfast, but no one was brave enough to say anything, apart from one boy.
"They are both ill professor" Draco said confidently.
"Both of them?" Snape said as he walked intimidating toward our table.
"Yes, both of them" Draco replied matching Snape's attitude.
"Very well then" Snape said and he walked back to his desk. I tried to suppress a grin that was forming across my face. I've always been in awe of Draco's confidence and poise.
"We will be brewing the forgetfulness potion, something Mr Longbottom is quite familiar with" Snape said gesturing towards a blushing Neville. Some Slytherins were sneering at his embarrassment.
"It is an extremely simple potion, but it may be chosen for your owl mocks" Snape said mumbling. Everyone listened intently, I could tell that most people felt pretty unprepared for the up coming mocks.
"You will need to collect your ingredients from the store cupboard, you will find the recipe in your magical drafts and potions book" Snape said scowling. Draco turned to the correct page,
"so we need: 2 drops of Lethe River Water, 2 Valerian sprigs and 4 mistletoe berries." I walked off to get the ingredients as Draco set up the equipment. I came back with the necessary items and placed them on our desk. It was weird not to hear Ron and Hermione bicker playfully from across the room.
"Do you want to do this together? It's pretty simple" Draco asked.
"Are you sure?" I said doubting my brewing skills.
"Yes, I'll help you don't worry."
As we both reached to grab the Lethe river water our hands grazed each others.
