Draco and I got up from the floor. He embraced me in a loving hug and we walked to the Gryffindor common room to get our books for the third lesson. Draco was leaving more and more of his stuff in my room.
Nobody was in the corridors so Draco held my hand with his pale fingers as we walked to the common room. We entered the room and the fire started up.
"We don't have that in Slytherin" Draco said.
"What, a fire?" I asked puzzled. "Not one that starts by itself" Draco replied. "Oh, that's unusual" I said. Draco grabbed a handful of books and put them in his bag. I did the same.
"Probably because people in Slytherin want everything to be dark and atmospheric" Draco chucked.
"Yeah probably" I replied.
As Draco was putting the books into is bag I noticed something, a carton of cigarettes.
"What the hell is this?!" I said as I snatched the carton from his bag.
"Give then back Potter!" Draco said holding his hand out.
"How many" I growled.
"How many what?" Draco whined.
"How many a day" I said with gritted teeth.
"Give them back now Potter!" Draco stamped his good foot. He realised from the expression on my face that I was not playing around.
"20" he mumbled.
"A PACK A DAY?!" I screamed.
"Shut up Potter" Draco grunted.
"Most experienced smokers go through a pack a day, how long have you been smoking" I said through gritted teeth.
"On and off for about a year" Draco mumbled. I was speechless.
"Look I haven't always smoked this much, It used to be once a month, and when we got together I stoppped completely, apart from that one day, but since, you know when we got beaten up it's been a pack a day" Draco said looking at the floor.
I dropped the carton and grabbed his hand.
"Please stop, I can't loose you" I said pleading with him.
"Alright, lets get rid of them" Draco said as he pulled a tearful smile. I picked up the carton and put it in my bag. We both walked to the toilet. I walked over to the cubicle and dumped the cigarettes in. I put my hand into Draco's pockets and took his spare ones.
"After you" I said to Draco as I gestured towards the toilet handle.
Draco thought for a few seconds before he flushed the toilet. I patted him on the back.
"Thanks" he said before he kissed me on the head. I smiled warmly. I turned my wrist to look at my watch.
"Crap we're late for our next lesson" I said looking at Draco.
"Well we better run then" Draco said whilst smiling.
"I'll race ya" he said before he sped off even with his walking stick. I ran after him.
We arrived a few minutes late to transfiguration. Me and Draco strolled in trying to act casual. As we had been running our hair and clothes were ruffled. I sat down as I was catching my breath. Ron held his hand out as if he wanted to fist bump me. I did so. Draco turned to me and whispered,
"I love the way they think we've just made out."
"I hate the way we haven't" I whispered back.
"Quiet mr Potter" Professor McGonagall exclaimed. She was trying to teach us how to turn ravens into writing desks. Hermione was obviously very successful but Ron waved his wand around with great annoyance. I couldn't help but laugh
"shh mr Potter" Professor McGonagall said whilst smiling at me. I was confused, was she telling me off or having a joke. Either way I said
"sorry" and continued on with the set work. I didn't really see the point in turning a raven into a writing desk but I knew not to question Professor McGonagall.
When we were told to do written work every time my hand moved to start a new line Draco stroked my hand with his pinky. I touched his leg in an effort to make him stop but it only made him more clingy. Professor McGonagall had her back turned. He stopped writing at all and moved his hand up my leg. I started to shake, he reached the top of my leg and I tried to conceal a small squeal from my mouth.
"Mr Malfoy please stop distracting mr Potter" McGonagall said with her back still turned. I smiled but Draco took his hand off of me in shock.
