Lessons were filled with discussion about the upcoming events, it was all anyone could talk about. My friends weren't the exception.

"How do you think I should ask Hermione to the dance?" Ron asked Draco and I in history of magic.

"Nothing big or over the top, she'd much rather something more meaningful and true to your relationship" Draco suggested.

"Confetti bomb" Seamus shouted from across the room.

We all laughed, Ron managed to force out a chuckle, but you could tell he put a lot of expectation on himself.

Hermione was over in the corner, with the girls, presumably talking about girl stuff. Dresses and the like.

I'm glad I didn't have to worry about matching my outfit with a stupid dress.

Didn't I?

I kind of assumed that Draco would be asking me to the dance. He enjoyed a bit of pageantry. Plus he had major FOMO.

"I've ordered us the same suit, mine with green stitching and yours with red," he said after nudging me in the side.

"Good, I mean thanks, thanks I didn't have to worry about picking anything," I said, wondering if he wouldn't properly ask me.

I'm not one of those people, but it would be nice.

Afternoon classes had been struck off for those in a house quidditch team.

Hurrah.

It couldn't come quick enough for me.

The second period was a study so we had to return to our houses. Draco kissed me goodbye and walked off with Pansy and Blaise.

I sat with Ron, Seamus, and Dean at the sofas, Ron and I talked about the upcoming quidditch trials. Who we think would get in, who wouldn't, and who would be on the other schools' teams.

"So definitely Viktor Krum, Henrik Schulz, Oskar Richter, oh and probably Annika König from Durmstrang," Dean said listing them off on his fingers.

"I think, Madeline Auriant, Fleur Delacour, Violette Delacroix, Maxime Archambault, and Augustin Lévêque, from Beauxbatons," Seamus said clearly excited for the tournament.

One thing remained on my mind, both Draco and I are seekers, I'd have to be competing against each other.

Only one of us could make the team.

I loved him, but I would do anything for it to be me on that team.

Lunch rolled around and Draco was waiting with Ginny, Luna, and Hermione. All sitting at the Gryffindor table.

"No, purple is definitely your colour Hermione" Draco insisted to her.

They all had their heads close together like it was a secret.

"Potter!" He exclaimed when he saw me.

"Sorry ladies, I've got to sort this lot out as well," he said looking back at the group of girls.

Ginny laughed, Luna gave one of her whimsical smiles and Hermione looked smug with herself.

He swanned over and sat with us.

"So, talk to me about suits boys" he announced, starting a never-ending conversation.

All around the hall people were being asked to the dance. I looked back at Draco, maybe he just wanted to go with his friends, maybe he wouldn't ask me.

"I've got it!" Ron suddenly exclaimed, standing up and rushing off.

We all sat, stunned for a moment.

"Whatever it is, he's got it" Dean repeated.

I chuckled.

"Hold on" Dean continued, "I think I've got it as well," he said reaching into his pocket.

With a quick swish of his wand, a silent bomb of confetti rained down on us.

Seamus lit up like a Christmas tree.

The rest of the hall looked up confused as they were now being showered by small pieces of coloured paper.

It wasn't until Seamus practically screamed,

"YES!" That they knew what was going on.

A few people even clapped.

I glanced at Snape's seat, he wasn't there. I hadn't seen him since the incident.

"You know what this calls for?!" Draco exclaimed with a grin on his face.

"A round of my trademarked, gayhighfives™"
He said holding his open hand out to Seamus, Dean and then me.

I gave him the high five feebly, the conversation turned to Seamus' surprise.

Draco patted my leg before returning his hand to his fork.
