The park

We sat in silence for a moment, lupin turned the page of his daily prophet ever so often, breaking the lack of noise into little chunks, manageable sizes.

Sirius was normally a bit bouncier, but it was clear that he was battling a hangover.

I looked to Draco, he didn't seem to mind the silent breakfast at all.

The patter of Kreacher's feet drew everyone's attention to the letters held in his wrinkly hands. He passed them around the table, Sirius' face lit up when he saw his.

"Oh hurrah, my edition of knitters weekly" he said, eager to open the envelope.

Inside was a magazine and a grey ball of string. He flicked through and skimmed over some of the projects included.

"Sirius, why are you subscribed to a knitting magazine?" I asked.

"Why shouldn't I be?" He replied childishly.

"It's to prove a point" lupin piped up, "I said that he couldn't stick to anything for longer than a day"

"So I took up knitting, and I'd say I'm quite good" Sirius replied with a playful scowl.

"Mmm" lupin said pulling a face that showed he clearly disagreed.

"What do you mean, mmm, I knitted you that scarf didn't I?" Sirius said pointing at lupin.

"It didn't even fit around my neck" lupin chuckled.

"Well, it's not my fault you've got a fat neck" Sirius mumbled under his breath.

Lupin turned to Draco and I, clearly looking to change the subject.

"Got anything planned today?" He asked.

"We're going on a jog, but apart from that, no" Draco replied.

"You should bring Sirius, make it a dog walk" Lupin said with a mischievous grin.

"Merlin's beard! let a bloke recover, I've only just got rid of my headache" Sirius said before picking up his magazine and holding it in a way that covered his face.

"You better go, boys, before you start getting bossed around too" he said peaking over the top of his magazine to raise his eyebrows at lupin.

Draco and I got up and walked to the door.

Once outside Draco asked, "where should we go?"

"Let's run a few laps around that park" I said pointing to the fairly big park opposite Sirius' house.

We crossed the road and started to run. Despite Draco's old injuries he was still very fit from quidditch, we ran for quite a while without talking, just focusing on our breathing.

After roughly three miles I needed a break, so we slowed down and walked. We reached a bench sitting opposite a small pond and sat down. Weeds had overtaken the bank but you could still see a little family of ducks floating around.

"How's Gryfinndor for the match on Monday?" Draco asked.

"Oh crap, I completely forgot" I said remembering they were redoing the Slytherin Gryfinndor match after Draco's injury. They were waiting for him to get better and have enough time to practice.

"I've got no idea, I'll need to speak to Wood" I said making a mental note of that.

"Have you not been going to practice?" Draco asked.

"No I have, I just didn't realise we were devising a match plan" I said putting my hand to my head.

"Don't worry" Draco said leaning in, "Slytherin has hardly had any practices"

"How come?" I asked.

"I don't know, Marcus hasn't been organising them, to be fair I haven't seen him a lot recently" Draco explained.

"Oh, well maybe that gives us half a chance of winning" I said shrugging my shoulders.

A little grey poodle suddenly burst through the weeds and came running over to us. It sat with its tail wagging, asking for strokes. Draco took a moment to regain his exposure, but then he too patted the dog with me.

"ADDISON, COME ADDISON" a voice bellowed.

A man came up to the dog. He was wearing really really tight burgundy jeans, a blue a burgundy tartan shirt, which was equally tight and showed the outline of his pecks, and some brown, suede boots. He had warm brown hair and a short beard, which complemented his hazel eyes.

"Sorry about her" he said clipping a pink lead to her matching collar. As he lent down a small silver chain around his neck was reviled. As he stood back up he tucked it in again.

"Don't worry about it, she's lovely" Draco said smiling.

"Yeah she is, I would have preferred a German Shepard or a Great Dane, but my boyfriend wanted a poodle," he said giving her a quick pat.

"Well sorry for disturbing you" he said as he walked off.

"You totally fancied him" I said playfully slapping Draco's arm.

"And you didn't? The guy was built like a god, and he had a good style" Draco replied.

I blushed a little,

"See, I mean come on who wouldn't" Draco said smiling.

"I don't really fancy random guys" I said looking at the pond to try to stop blushing.

"Shut up, yes you do. Tell me you didn't like that doctor we went to see" Draco said.

"Well..." I started.

"All this rubbish about you being straight but just liking me" Draco said laughing.

I laughed with him,

"Well at the time it was true" I said.

"Yeah right, I've seen the way you look at Cedric" Draco said raising an eyebrow.

"What do you mean?" I said feeling exposed.

"You know what I mean Potter" Draco replied in a low tone, still smiling that I was so embarrassed.

"Ok, whatever. But Cedric is pretty hot you have to admit" I said reasoning with Draco.

"Yeah he is, but that's not the point. You are so oblivious you didn't realise you were gay, you are the literal definition of a gay disaster" Draco said.

"But I'm your gay disaster" I said with a little smile.

"You're right about that" Draco said wrapping his arm around me and kissing my forehead.
