A jet black owl tapped its equally black beak on the window of the Gryffindor common room. In its beak, it held a letter. I got up to open the window, the owl gave the letter to me and flew off swiftly. I turned the letter over and recognised the seal immediately. It read:
Dear Harry,
Moony and I want to take you away from the scornful rule of Snivellus and invite you to our humble abode for the weekend. I will come and pick you up within the hour on the motorbike. There's enough room in the sidecar to bring a special someone, I would love to meet him.
Padfoot
"Who's it from?" Draco asked curiously. I didn't answer immediately as I was reading the letter over again. Draco got up and walked towards me.
"Is it bad news?" He asked in a low voice.
"No, no. it's good news, great actually" I said passing him the letter.
He quickly read it and smiled at me.
"Who's Padfoot, and why do they want to meet me?" Draco asked handing the letter back to me.
"My godfather Sirius" I replied. A wave of nerves swept over Draco, the same thing happened when it was announced that the Weasley's had invited him over.
"It will be fine" I said placing my hands on his shoulders.
"I know it will be, scarface" he said before ruffling my hair and walking out of the common room, presumably to pack. I sighed and bounded up the stairs two at a time to get packing.
"Where are you going?" Ron asked as he was unpacking the rest of his trunk. The excitement of his return had simmered down.
"To Sirius's for the weekend" I replied pulling a smaller trunk from under my bed.
"Are you not coming to dinner?" He asked.
"No, sorry" I replied, "so...any word on Hermione?" I asked changing the subject.
"I spoke to Madam Pomfrey, she said it could be days" Ron said a little deflated.
"Well that's good" I said giving him a warm smile.
I packed what I needed and waved goodbye to Ron.
"See ya" he shouted as I closed our door. Draco was waiting in the common room with a black trunk by his side. It was matte and had silver embellishments, I noticed that the stitching of the black leather handle was emerald green.
"Ready?" He asked running his hand through his platinum hair.
"Ready" I replied.
We lugged our trunks to the large oak doors that stood at the entrance of Hogwarts.
"Any idea what time he's coming?" Draco asked.
"Not exactly, he likes to be ambiguous" I replied, but as if on cue, our attention was taken by the soft purr of the motorcycle's vintage engine.
We were met with a tall, well-built, man with messy, shoulder-length, black hair. He lept off the bike and walked over to us with an air of casual elegance.
"Harry!" He announced as I looked warmly into his striking grey eyes. He threw his arms around me almost violently.
"It's good to see you" I mumbled into his oversized coat.
He let go and marvelled at me as if he was taking it all in. He brought his thumb to his tongue and playfully rubbed at my scar.
"Still got that thing have ya?" He said winking at me. He clapped his hands and said, "this must be him" he placed his hand to the side of his mouth as if he was about to tell Draco a secret. "I have to admit to hair kinda gave it away" he said in a fake loud whisper. Draco smiled cautiously.
Sirius held out his hand which Draco met with his own. The two shook hands, Sirius's sleeve moved slightly up his wrist and the edge of one of his tattoos was exposed. I was careful to not look for too long.
"Do you like fire whiskey?" Sirius asked Draco.
"What kind of question is that?" Draco replied sarcastically.
"We're going to get along, I can tell" Sirius said picking up our trunks and strapping them to the blue bike.
Sirius chucked us two helmets.
"It's just that I made a bit of an impulsive buy and I need to get rid of some fire whiskey" he said swinging his leg over the bike.
"That won't be a problem" Draco replied getting into the sidecar with me, it was a bit of a squish.
"Good" Sirius said smiling at Draco before revving the Triumph 650, causing it to become airborne.
