Noah leaned the chair up as Dr. Clemens explained that the filling and cleaning was free but that it won't happen again because he doesn't want to have to me in his dental chair for a second time because I'm responsible and yadda yadda.
I just wanted to leave.
I said a quick thank you to both of them and practically ran out of the clinic.
I was half way to my dorm when I heard footsteps running behind me, I immediately turn around and saw Noah approaching me, wearing his white lab coat, obviously showing that he just ran out of the clinic.
"Uh, are you okay?" I asked Noah, who was struggling to catch his breath and was putting his hands over his head.
Noah just nodded as he brought his hands back down to his sides.
"Anyways, I was just saying how....uh, you were really brave in there. And if I was in your spot, I would have been freaking out." Noah said, but he sounded somewhat nervous, huh.
"Oh, yeah." I wasn't going to thank him, I was scared out of my mind in there, why would I thank him for telling me that I was "brave".
"I was wondering if you wanted me to help you....with your fear." Noah suggested, but I don't know about that. I continued to look at him for clarification.
"We could go in a clinic day and just you and me could practice with the tools and so forth, becuase honestly, I need practice too, that was scary just to just watch." Noah explained it as if it was nothing, but I really don't know. I mean I would love to spend more time with Noah, but I don't know if I feel ready to get so close to the tools, especially with a classmate.
I continued to have an argument with myself until I looked up to see Noah's hopeful eyes.
"I guess so." I responded back, in which he immediately yelped a quick and random "yay".
"Um, anyways,I have to get back to Dr. Clemens before he rips my head off for being gone too long." Noah said, but while standing there awkwardly. He kinda started to check me out, so I broke the silence.
"Bye." I said while starting to walk away.
"Right, yeah, bye." He muttered before I got too far away. However I didn't hear him walk away yet, so he was obviously still checking me out, which caused me to give him an eye roll even if he couldn't see it, crazy college frat boys.
Speaking of which, Noah lives in a fraternity where all the boys are in medical majors. Theta Delta Sigma, their fraternity, is the biggest fraternity on campus and has the most radical parties. It's always the medical sorority, Delta Gamma, that brings the craziness because they can't have their own parties, so they just go and up the fraternity's party instead. I've personally have never gone to one, because I would prefer to study, but students the next day (including the ones with hangovers) always talk about who got arrested and who got who pregnant from their crazy parties. Although, it's kinda ironic that a medical fraternity throws dangerous parties, but it's college, so it's not really a shocker.
I prefer to not stay in a sorority, so I'm grateful that there were dorms available, becuase that was definitely not going to happen. Girls can be pretty dramatic sometimes, and I can be salty enough, without the additional influence of other girls.
I finally make it back to my dorm and plan to pull an all-nighter to finish a report on the importance of dental hygiene, yay, I wonder who would assign the whole class a paper about avoiding cavities (sarcasm very much intended).
After 5 hours, I finally finished the 2,000-word essay at 12 am. I totally forgot to eat dinner, but I don't care, I'm too tired to care. I make sure to brush my teeth and pass out until morning.
