I closed my eyes once again, not feeling anything, not the gel, not the needle, not anything, other than a loud "SHIT".

I opened my eyes and looked over at the teary-eyed Noah.

What did I miss.

"What happened?" I asked, sitting up and seeing Noah clutch his hand.

"NothingI'mfine." He said.

I don't believe that. Plus, girl are the queens of saying I'm fine, something is wrong.

I gave Noah a disapproving look, before he spoke up again.

"I just dropped the cotton ball on the floor, that's it."

I don't believe him, but I'll let it slide this time.

I laid back down, opened my mouth, and closed my eyes, finally feeling the gel.

Within seconds, I was numb.

I heard Noah sigh heavily.

What's up with him.

And then I felt the piercing stab of the needle.

I cringed heavily as I felt the pain increase for at least 5 seconds before it went away.

I was very thankful that Noah only had one needle and it wasn't a very high dosage. I know tomorrow it will be at least two, but today I was done. And I handled it, sorta. I didn't cry and that was enough.

I felt him move the chair up and I immediately moved into his lap.

"You did so good. I'm so proud of you." He said,  engulfing me in a hug.

I looked up at him, and gave him a disgusted face, which confused him.

"My bottom lip is numb." I said to the best of my ability completely serious, but it sounded like gibberish, while Noah thought it was hilarious and literally burst out in laughter.

"What?" He said, in the middle of his giggles.

I gave him an upset face as I pulled my phone out and typed into google translate "My bottom lip is numb", seeing him continue to laugh as he took off his mask and gloves, throwing them in the trash.

"Come on, let's go back to your place and continue studying." He said before he washed his hands with me still laying on him.

He grabbed his backpack and helped me put my backpack on before he picked me up bridal style and walked out of the exam room.

While we walked back to my apartment, I decided to question him.

Noah's POV

"Why'd you lie and say you were fine?" Willow asked me as we made our way back to her apartment.

"What do you mean? I am fine. I'm great, actually and super proud of you. What're we gonna study when we get back?"

"Don't change the subject." She said, pointing a finger my way.

I can't tell her the truth.

I can't tell her that my hand started shaking again, that would worry her so much for tomorrow.

It's already worrying me and I don't know what to do about it.

Maybe I'll do the physical training while we study, and just tell her that my hand is getting sore from writing or something, or tease her that she tired out my hand from me carrying her.

But whatever happens, I am not telling her the truth. At least not now, not when our whole future is decided tomorrow.

"I promise you, I'm fine. Stop worrying. Nothing is wrong with me, other than you weighing me down."

"What? I am not weighing you down, you're weighing yourself down." She said, jumping out of my arms at my comment.

At least, she didn't continue to question me.

The rest of the day and night, we snacked, studied, and quizzed each other.

She didn't question me doing my physical training exercises on my hand, but I knew she was watching me.

As long as it's fine tomorrow, that's all I care about.

I'm praying to whoever the heck will help my hand be a perfectly fine, normal hand tomorrow.

Maybe there's nothing to worry about.

Maybe, it'll ruin the whole appointment.

I don't know.

But I do know that Willow is so ready for tomorrow, she is going to do fantastic, even if she thinks she won't, she is going to pass with flying colors. You won't find a better dentist than her.

We were in bed by 9:30, wanting to get good sleep before our really big day, I hope it goes well.

A/N

Super random question, since I did double updates today.

Do you think I've been injected by a numbing needle, not an IV, but a numbing needle. Why or why not.

I'll let you know next chapter.

That's all.

Thanks for everything.

It will soon be coming to a close.
