I got to radiology class with 5 minutes to spare, which was good because I needed to message Noah back anyways.
I opened my messages and texted Noah back,
"May or may not be studying for the rest of my life."
He immediately answered,
"Are you sure you can't have a little break and go on a date with me?"
Wait.
Hold.
The.
Phone.
I was trying my hardest not to squeal in the middle of class.
The hottest frat boy and dental student wants to go on a date with me!
There was no way I was going to say no to his request.
He's so perfect and nice and sweet and smart, so so smart.
He's already seen the worst part of me: my teeth.
So why not, although, I do have a bunch of studying to do, so it better be a quick date.
"I guess I can take a small break, but if I fail Dr. Clemens' tool demonstration test, it's your fault."
My radiology class was the last class of the day and it could not go fast enough.
Although, it wasn't boring, it just wasn't fast enough.
Finally as my professor neared the end of his discussion about reading teeth x-rays, he dismissed the class.....everyone, except me.
"Ms. Samuels, could you come up here please." He stopped me before I could even collect my materials.
I cautiously collected my stuff and nervously headed to my professor.
I don't think I've done anything wrong. I hope I didn't get a bad grade on a test. I've done everything right. I couldn't possibly fathom why he wanted to talk to me.
"Yes, Dr. Marshall, you wanted to see me?" I tried to sound polite and not worried about what he was going to say, but I don't think I did a very well job of hiding my nervousness.
"I suppose you know the chief of the hospital, Dr. Williamson, yes?" He asked in which I nodded my head for him to continue. Of course I knew the Chief, as any intern or med student, I would think you would know who the chief of the hospital is.
"Well he has paged me to tell you that you have an appointment with him in 15 minutes." He explained, but yet, I am so confused.
"Um, what? Appointment? About what?" I started firing questions at him, although he probably doesn't know the answer to half of them.
"I don't know Ms. Samuels, but I suggest you head there quickly. You definitely do not want to to keep the Chief waiting." He defended, but I couldn't agree anymore with him so I politely excused myself and about ran to the hospital, practically speed walking.
I tried to rely on my memory to get to the chief's office, but ended up following the signs to his office.
I knocked on his door in which I immediately heard "Come in, please."
I did as said and walked into his office.
Not only did I find the Chief in his very own sea foam scrubs and lab coat at his desk, but I also saw Bryan behind the Chief.
Why is Bryan here?
I mean he probably just had a question for the Chief and should be leaving soon anyways.
"Ah, Ms. Samuels, right on time. Take a seat, please." The Chief explained as Bryan just stood there.
I cautiously set my bag down and sit in one of the chairs in front of his desk.
