Noah's POV (Meanwhile)
A nurse brought in my discharge papers and I was more than ready to leave.
I never really liked hospitals, unless I'm going to visit someone like Willow, because then I'm not a patient and it's not weird.
My hand is still healing, but at least I can hold a pen now and it's a little less shaky.
I finished signing off the last paper when the door opened, I wasn't expecting to see anybody because Dr. Mullins already told me about having to come to physical therapy three days a week.
I looked to the door seeing a random guy in scrubs.
But then I realized that that random guy in scrubs was in Willow's lap, getting a stupid cavity "checked out".
"Get out!" I said, not wanting to talk to this terrible excuse of a person.
"You just need to listen to me." He cautiously spoke, walking over to my bed side.
"I don't need to do anything." I retorted back to him.
"Dude, it's about Willow." As he said that, my ears perked up and I was somewhat interested in what he was saying.
"After getting a heart transplant and going to have surgery for her cancer in a week or two, she's going to need her support system. She's going to need you. She's miserable right now, laying in bed hoping that her body doesn't reject the transplant and just buried in her dental textbooks, studying like her life depended on it, because I mean, it does." He stopped, looking to see if I was actually listening now.
"Look, that day you came in, I was trying to help her have an actual example and not just a textbook picture. And after seeing the way she was confident to be able to identify my back molar cavity, she's going to be a great dentist. You can't lose her dude. I'm sure you guys could have such a bright future together." He said before looking at me one last time and leaving the room.
I don't know what just happened,
But I'm going to get my Willow back.
I need my Willow.
And she needs me.
I grab my discharge papers as I start to slowly walk out of the room.
I went to the nurse at the station who handed it to me and I mentioned that I would be right back.
I started to try and find my way back to Willow.
I got multiple looks from random doctors and people in scrubs, but none stopped me and I just walked faster to Willow's room.
As I got to her room, I didn't even bother to knock, I just went in.
I went right in to see an empty bed with textbooks scattered all over the bed and bed table.
This is Willow's room, but where's Willow, where's my Willow.
The one time that I came looking for her.
The one time, such a stupid move, Noah.
Good job, she's not even here.
She probably doesn't even want you here.
I heard a knock on the door and immediately whipped around to come face to face with Willow's oncologist, Dr. Carraway.
"Hi, uh, Dr. Carraway." I nervously said.
"Mr. Grey." She said, giving me a curtly nod.
She didn't say anything else.
We just awkwardly stood there for a few minutes before I spoke up.
"I, um, I'll be going now." I said awkwardly.
She didn't say anything, just looked at me.
I went to the door and opened it, looking back at Dr. Carraway before I left.
I looked back to the door and saw a smaller, petit girl in front of me, that I almost tripped over.
My sweet tooth.
