As soon as Noah left, Dr. Sam walked back into my room.
"Willow." He started, before I completely shut him down.
"Don't." I said on the verge of tears before getting absorbed back into my study guide and textbooks.
Throughout the past few hours, multiple nurses and Dr. Sam came in and out of my room, it didn't matter, they weren't important, they weren't Noah.
They were just trying to do their job and I had to focus and learn mine.
It was around 9 at night and Dr. Sam came to check on me before he left and the nurses just did their hourly vitals check, so when I heard my door open, not expecting anybody else, my head immediately shot up.
I was hoping to see Noah, but it was only Dr. Carraway.
"Good evening Willow, so I just came to give you a little update." She said as she scanned over my chart.
"You have scans bright and early in the morning to decide where we will take your treatment. I suggest you take a break from studying and sleep so that you can sleep off your medicine." She explained before exiting as soon as she entered.
I closed my study guide into one of my textbooks and cautiously tried to get comfortable to go to sleep.
~~
I was jostled awake by Dr. Sam, who had pushed a wheel chair next to my bed.
"I didn't mean to wake you up so harshly, but the medicine had you in a pretty deep sleep, and you couldn't miss your scans, so I'm sorry." He apologized, I nodded understandingly as he helped me slowly transition into the wheelchair.
I was trying my best not to fall asleep on our way to radiology.
As Dr. Sam pushed me into the MRI room, I couldn't help but notice which radiologists were working.
I looked in the window and saw the one person I didn't expect to see, Bryan.
As I watched his movements more, the computer screens illuminated his black eye, well at least Noah got a good hit in.
Bryan didn't look as bad as Noah did. I guess Noah got most of the hits. He got most of the hits, for me.
As Dr. Sam helped me into the MRI bed, Bryan made eye contact with me, influencing him to leave the computer room and come into the main room of the MRI to see me.
"Aww. Hey Willow. How's your pretty boy, Noah, doing? Did he break your heart? Is that why you had to have a heart transplant?" Bryan mocked as he came closer to me.
"How about you stop and run the scans like you're supposed to, Dr. Miller." Dr. Sam said, standing up for me, which didn't help matters any and I didn't need his help anyways.
"Oh, I see. You have the newbie, Dr. Reynolds, to replace him now." Bryan continue to say, now mocking Dr. Sam since he added to it.
"Both of you guys just shut up! Bryan, go die in a hole or run the scans. And Dr. Sam, I can fight my own battles, I don't need your help!" I yelled as Bryan put his hands up in defense as he walked into the computer room and Dr. Sam did what he was supposed to be doing but with no conversation, which I was grateful for.
The whole entire time they took the scans, I didn't listen to music.
My thoughts were too loud in my head to even focus on music if there was any.
I could only think about Noah.
I just wanted my sweet and selfless Noah back.
I am going to get him back, someway, somehow.
He needs his sweet tooth, and I need mine.
