"Well, looks like it's raining cats and dogs out there," Buddy declared, staring out the window as the city was attacked by a downpour of endless rain. Sitting beside the dachshund, his best friend Mel snickered as he remarked, "Guess we'll have to be careful not to step on Leonard since there's so many 'poodles' outside." The pair laughed their heads off at that joke. They quickly received whacks to the head by Chloe, who gestured to Leonard. The poodle didn't notice though since he was listening to music on his MP3 player with Sweetpea and Pepe.
"Is it just me or is there literally nothing on today?" Duke muttered as he flipped through the channels. Rolling his eyes at the giant mutt who was his brother, Max responded, "There are better ways to spend a rainy day, you realize that." Nuzzling her boyfriend lovingly, Gidget added on, "Yeah, just look at Norman and Tiberius, they're doing something productive."
"Gidget, this is chess," Tiberius pointed out, glancing over at one of his two best friends. His other, Norman, was trying to figure out a way to save his skin in the game. He had lost everything but two of his pawns and his king. The old hawk had only lost one pawn. And he had willingly sacrificed that one so he could get the queen out of the way. In other words, the young guinea pig was doomed.
"Here's an idea. How about you go to the news channel. I want to see more on that petnapper," Snowball declared. Hopping over to Duke, he tried to get the remote controller but the giant mutt held it out of his reach. Sighing, Ozone let out a hiss, causing the dog to drop the remote. Pops luckily caught it. However, he didn't give it to Snowball as he pointed out, "Time to head home. Owners are coming back at any second."
The apartment was evacuated of all pets except for Max and Duke, the residents.
