The next morning, there was a light rain falling down upon the Virginian forest. Anything and everything in sight quickly became wet. Nothing was left dry. That included two red tailed hawks who were walking amongst the soaked trees, trying to get home. Each were thinking of different things. One was trying to figure out what their companion was thinking. The other was wondering how to get rid of a little pest who wouldn't stop following them.

Just then, Wendy heard a low growl. Jumping at first, she realized that it had been her stomach. She couldn't remember the last time she had eaten. Whimpering from hunger, she looked up at her companion expectantly. However, he was flat out ignoring her as he continued walking. Taking a deep breath, Wendy summoned all of her courage as she asked quietly, "When will we be eating?"

"Who says you're eating? Continue asking questions and referring to us as 'we' and I might just turn into a cannibal," Tiberius grumbled. He was tempted to just whirl around and kill Wendy right on the spot. His head was splitting from thousands of questions and complaints that had come from the annoying little hawk's mouth. She just didn't know when to shut up. Meanwhile, the rain was falling faster now.

Just then, the two red tailed hawks arrived at a small ravine with the only way across being an ancient rotting log. The pair slowly looked at each other before Tiberius pushed Wendy forward as he muttered, "You first."
