Jolting awake, Tiberius dug his talons deep into the branch he was perched upon. Breathing heavily, he silently tipped his head back and gazed up at the night sky. He was accustomed to getting nightmares almost every night now. But this one was different from most. About ninety seven percent of his dreams were about his sister's death and her killer. Tonight though was that rare three percent of him dreaming about his parents.
"It's just a dream, there's nothing to worry bout ya old fool," Tiberius muttered quietly under his breath. Shaking himself as if to get rid of his nerves, he glanced up at the moon and stars one more time. Sighing softly, he closed his light brown eyes and tried to catch some sleep again. However, it wasn't even a minute later when he heard something moving around all the way down on the forest floor. Whatever it was wasn't quieting down.
Groaning, Tiberius opened his eyes and looked down. Thinking it was Wendy making the racket, he was about to screech down to her to keep the noise down when he heard a sound that belonged to a much larger animal. The old hawk could also hear frightened squeaks coming from Wendy. "Why am I doing this?" he muttered before spreading his wings and diving down...
