After some time, the sun began to sink below the horizon, ending another day and bringing forth a new night. Luckily, Tiberius had found a suitable shelter before it had gotten too dark outside. The burrow may have once belonged to a badger but it would suffice for tonight. Entering, the old red tailed hawk placed Wendy on the ground before laying down on the opposite end. Yawning, he was about to fall asleep when he heard soft whimpers. Sighing, he glanced over to his left.

Curled up into a tight ball, Wendy was still whimpering in pain. Her neck felt sore and it hurt whenever something touched it. Her yellow eyes continued to leak tears as she silently whimpered in her corner of the burrow. Hearing footsteps approaching, the young hawk lifted her head up to find Tiberius looking down at her. Trembling, she glanced down at the dirt floor. She had no idea what her companion was going to do or say.

She definitely wasn't expecting what did happen.

Ever so carefully, Tiberius picked Wendy up by her neck while being careful of her wound. Carrying her over to where he had been laying, he set her down before proceeding to curl up around her. Shaking slightly, Wendy glanced up at the old hawk's face. She couldn't tell what was on his mind though for there was no expressions whatsoever. Returning her gaze, Tiberius murmured, "Get some sleep kid. It'll do ya some good." Resting his head on the ground, he closed his eyes and fell asleep. Not wanting to get scolded or something like that, Wendy did the same as she pressed up against the old hawk's chest, trying to get warm and comfortable.

Outside the burrow, all was silent on that dark night.
