Chapter 9

The man seemed as surprised as all three animals. Slowly raising a walkie talkie, he spoke into the device, "Hey, you said there was supposed to be one eagle here. There's two of them and a dog." Frowning when he heard that, Tiberius grumbled, "Hawk." Meanwhile, whoever was on the other side of the walkie talkie said something back to the man but it was impossible to tell what the heck they had said. However, it could be assumed what it was when the man slowly approached the three animals, carrying a bag.

"I think we should probably start-" Gidget started to say but couldn't finish her sentence when the bag came over her head. Yelping, the Pomeranian tried to escape but it was useless as the man held it closed. He made a reach for the two hawks. Fortunately for Tiberius, he managed to get away in time. Wendy, however, wasn't so lucky as she was grabbed and stuffed into the bag with Gidget.

Heading off into the kitchen, Tiberius quickly got up onto the refrigerator. He watched silently as the man came in. Waiting patiently, the old hawk quietly planned his next move. Once the man turned his back, he acted quickly, flying down with open talons. The man was completely unprepared as Tiberius sank his talons into his arm, causing him to drop the bag. Gidget and Wendy dashed out.

Focused on the man who had snuck into his apartment, Tiberius didn't notice there was a second person behind him until he felt a sharp sting in his right shoulder. Screeching, he looked over to find a tranquilizer dart. It was too late to flee as the old hawk fell to the floor, his world turning to black. The last thing he saw was a bag descending over his head...
