"Alright, eat up you two," Alfred spoke kindly as he placed two paper plates on the floor. On each plate were pieces of chicken and turkey. One plate had a bigger serving but both servings were covered in chicken gravy. Watching as the two hawks went to their own plates, the old man went off to get ready for bed.

Eating his dinner, Tiberius was too lost in his thoughts that he didn't notice that Wendy had finished her smaller serving and was quietly creeping towards his plate. It was only when she lowered her head to try some of his food that he noticed. Feathers bristling, the old hawk growled silently at the younger hawk. Frightened, Wendy backed off and hid under one of the kitchen chairs. Huffing, Tiberius went back to eating but was very tense.

Ten minutes after everyone had their dinner, it was time for bed. Climbing up on the bed, Tiberius curled up on the pillow beside Alfred's head. Wendy, after receiving a death glare from the older hawk, stayed at the foot of the bed. There was a sad look in her eyes as she fearfully watched Tiberius. Petting both hawks on the head gently, Alfred whispered, "Good night you two." Turning out the light, he laid down and fell asleep. The hawks soon followed suit.

However, it wasn't even five minutes later when Tiberius felt something brush up against him. Opening his eyes, he scowled when he saw that Wendy had dared to curl up beside him. Pushing her away from him, he snarled quietly, "This is my spot. Get your own."

"I'm cold," Wendy whimpered, shivering for extra emphasis.

"Not my problem," Tiberius grumbled, rolling his eyes. He tried to get some sleep but Wendy just kept waking him up throughout the night with complaints about being cold, hungry or lonely. After hearing probably the hundredth complaint, he had enough. Getting up from the pillow, he hopped down from the bed. "Another word from you and you'll be wishing you kept quiet," he snarled angrily at Wendy before leaving the bedroom.

"Where are you..." Wendy's voice faded away as Tiberius padded down the hallway towards the kitchen. Spreading his wings, the old hawk flew up and landed on the top of the refrigerator. Getting as comfortable as he could on its cold hard surface, he curled up and fell asleep.
