"What was that?!" Wendy squeaked for probably the millionth time after hearing something snap in two. Trying not to lose his temper but failing miserably, Tiberius whirled around. Luckily, he refrained himself from whacking the young hawk as he muttered, "It was just a stupid twig THAT YOU STEPPED ON!" Surprised, Wendy quietly looked down to see that the old hawk was correct. Lifting her foot, she remarked, "Wow! You're very smart!"
"Stop following me!" Tiberius retorted, setting off on his own path again. Wendy eagerly followed.
For the past three hours, the pair had been like this. Wendy would say something that almost made Tiberius want to kill her right on the spot. In the meantime, the old hawk continuously tried to lose her but she always found him. He deliberately even put her inside a bear cave they had passed but the mama bear came out and just gave Wendy back to him. The month old hawk, in the older hawk's opinion, was unbearable.
Walking behind the large hawk, Wendy felt something touch her foot. Squeaking in terror, she jumped. "It was a rock..." the older hawk grumbled without looking back. Breathing a sigh of relief, Wendy started walking again but tripped over what she thought was a snake. "Idiot, tripping over logs now..." her companion muttered. Starting to believe he had eyes on the back of his head, Wendy continued following him when she felt something crawling up her spine. Not freaking out though in fear of getting her head bitten off by the other hawk, she remarked, "I think there's a leaf on my back."
"Oh, good for you moron," Tiberius snarled, looking over his shoulder at Wendy. He added with a hiss, "You want me to check if it really is a leaf?" Not arguing, Wendy turned around, revealing a huge spider. Eyes widening, Tiberius debated whether to leave it alone or not. Sighing, he raised his wing and merely whacked the giant spider and the back of Wendy's head. The arachnid went flying.
Rubbing the back of her head, Wendy looked up at the older hawk as she mumbled painfully, "What was that for? Was it a spider?"
"No," Tiberius replied, "You just needed a good whack on the head."
