-April

I immediately close the door after seeing what I just saw. I turn around and see Rylan and Alex look at me with pure confusion in their faces. Instead of explaining to them that I just saw Melanie with her...man friend? Boyfriend? I don't even know at this point. I knock and tell her to open the door for us. All of a sudden a phone starts buzzing. I pat my pockets to check if it's mine when Alex picks up and answers with his last name.

"I'm going to take this, I'll be back in a second." He says while walking back down the stairs. Eventually Melanie finally gets the door looking decent.

"April I didn't know you were coming! Why didn't you tell me-" Before she could finish her sentence she realised the man standing behind me. I moved to the side so she could get a better view and immediately her eyes started welling up with tears as she launched herself at Rylan.

"I missed you so much." She says while literally squeezing the life out of him. He laughed and stroked her hair.

"You're not going to invite your brother in Mel?" He says and she practically drags him in. Even after so many years of not seeing each other they have such a good relationship. I could never. I enter her apartment and look around, making sure I avoid her naked boyfriend. I'm still standing at the door when I see a man walk out of her bedroom fully clothed luckily.

"Rylan, April this is my boyfriend Andrew." She goes to stand beside him. Rylan says hello and doesn't really take much notice of him. Me on the other hand, I observe this Andrew. He's about 5'11 I'd guess, his brown eyes dark and intimidating and his hair was shaggy and just there I guess. I looked at his face a little more and could see a couple of lines on his forehead and around his mouth. They weren't defined but they were there. Gosh how old is this man.

"I'm 27." He says. Crap! I can't believe I said that out loud. Melanie gives me a glare and Rylan just starts laughing. I walk over and hit Rylan over the head while Mel and Andrew exchange goodbyes, he leaves and closes the door before Melanie asks,

"What do you think?" Me and Rylan just look at one another waiting for the other person to reply.

"As long as he's making you happy then I think he's great." I say. Rylan starts laughing again and quietly says,

"Yeah it doesn't matter that he looks like an old man." I hit his arm immediately, luckily Melanie doesn't hear. She sits down on one of the sofas opposite me and Rylan and asks what the plans for today are. Before either of us can answer she notices the shiny watch on my wrist.

"ROLEX!" She shouts in excitement and immediately pounces towards me to get a better look.

"Damn girl, when did you decide to spend a pretty penny on this?" She asks. I open my mouth and close it a number of times. I don't know how to respond.

"It was a gift from me." I hear a male voice come from the door way. I don't even have to turn around to know that it's Alex. I look at Melanie and her face immediately goes pale and her eyes. Her eyes, are filled with lust. I get up immediately and decide to do introductions before this silence becomes any longer.

 "Melanie, this is-"

"Alexander Reed." She says before I can even say his name. He walks over to her and says,

"You can call me Xander." He smirks at her and winks which only makes her slider lower on the sofa. I can't help but laugh a little, he knows exactly what he's doing to her. Alex walks past the sofa and sits on a chair that is facing the one Rylan and Melanie are sitting on. I shut the door and start walking in the same direction so I can sit. Out of all places I don't know why but I sit on the arm of the chair that Alex is sitting on. I can feel his smirk from behind me.

"You still want to do something today Mel?" I ask, watching her compose herself again. She nods vigorously and says, "I need a drink."

I lean back and moves Alex's arm from behind me to my lap so I don't crush it. He doesn't say anything or even smirk. He just let's me move it. Melanie watches us and repeats that she needs a drink. This time I roll my eyes and close them for a second.

"What about dinner?" Alex says. All of our eyes are on him. He leans forward and resumes. "Me and April have plans for lunch so how bout we pick you guys up at 7 for dinner. That should also give you a couple hours to catch up on whatever siblings talk about."

I immediately sit up and agree. Not because I want to spend tie with him for lunch or anything but because its only 3 pm and when Melanie drinks she never just has one glass. Rylan also agrees with dinner and repeats what Alex said about catching up with Melanie. Mel doesn't say anything she just nods and dramatically sighs while further sinking into the sofa.

"We are going to head off now. Nice to meet you Melody and Rylan. I look forward to getting to know you better this evening."

Alex gently pulls me up while speaking. I laugh a little but still discreetly elbow him when he calls Melanie, Melody. Rylan gets up and gives Alex one of those handshakes that every male on the planet knows and gives me a short hug. Melanie finally gets up and says,

"It's Melanie. Or Melody honestly I don't mind." Before she can embarrass herself further I give her a hug and tell her to be ready for us at 7. Alex gives her a small wave and we leave the apartment. He starts laughing at looks at me,

 "Why did you elbow me?"

"You called her Melody on purpose." I accuse while he's still laughing. I start walking down the stairs and her him shout,

"I heard you giggle as well Apricot don't act all high and mighty." I turn around and shoot him a glare and try to mask my smile. It was a little funny.
