-April
I wake up in my bed. The curtains are drawn so i have no idea if it's still light outside or not. Alex must have carried me to bed. I lift the blanket and see that i'm still wearing my clothes. Not that i was expecting to be naked but I've read a fair share of books and watched enough romance movies to know that sometimes the guy thinks it's wise to unclothe the woman. I look over to the bedside table and see the Rolex, it's 7 pm. Crap! We forgot about dinner! I clasp the watch on my wrist and immediately get out of bed and go into the living room. I walk through and see Alex sitting at the island in the kitchen. Once he acknowledges that i'm there he stands up and walks over to me.
Oh my wow. He's dressed differently. On his feet are a pair of black desert boots, different to his Oxfords. He's wearing a pair of black jeans and a black turtleneck. Over the turtleneck is a beige blazer-like jacket. His hair looked perfect like usual and he had a pair of plain black glasses on.
"I was just about to come and wake you up. Melanie called you, i told her dinner is going to be at 7:30 instead because i didn't know how much rest you'd need." He goes back to sit down and starts reading the paper on the island.
"You look different?" I say.
"Is that a question or are you telling me i look different?" He laughs not taking his eyes off whatever he's doing.
"You look good." I say walking towards the island, "Very good." This time he looks up, before he speaks i reach over and take the glasses off his face.
"I'm not sure if these have a prescription. Are you just wearing them because it ties the outfit together?" I tease while trying them on. Immediately I take them away from my eyes. "I take it back." I say,
"You definitely need them." He takes the glasses from my hand and puts them back on.
"I didn't want to put contacts in that's why i'm wearing them." He says while laughing then he returns to his paperwork. I look at him again, his face this time, not his outfit. He still was sporting stubble but it was getting a little thick, it still suited him. His chiselled jawline still looked amazing in a turtleneck. When i wear a turtleneck i look like a potato.
He runs his fingers through his hair a couple times and makes it look messy. His dirty blonde hair wasn't too long or too short, in this lighting his hair looked brunette at the roots. I look at his eyes and notice that they aren't grey anymore, they're green?
"Draw me like one of your french girls." He says while looking at the paper and lightly chuckling.
"Huh? Did you just quote titanic?" I respond.
"Well you seem to be analysing my face. I'll be Rose and you can be Jack." He says while smiling. I shake my head laughing.
"Is there a reason as to why my face is amusing Miss James?" He asks.
"Do you wear coloured contacts?"
"Why?"
"I thought your eyes were grey but they're green."
He looks at me and speaks, "Is that what you've been doing? Studying my eyes?"
"Just observing Mr Reed." I pause and start talking again, "So do you wear coloured contacts?"
He gets up and goes to the fridge then responds,
"No April i don't wear coloured contacts." He comes back with a pickle in his hand. I immediately scrunch my nose, he notices my reaction and smiles.
"Not a pickle person April?" I watch him bite into it.
"Why did you bring those into my home?" I say and walk over to the sofa to do a dramatic fall.
He laughs and follows me, "Did you take drama in school?" He asks. I shake my head.
"You should've, i guarantee you would've has many A's." He laughs and joins me on the sofa.
"Are you calling me a drama queen?" I narrow my eyes at him.
"I guess i am, my sweet little Apricot."
"I regret telling you about the apricot thing now."
"Whyyyyyyy?" He whines, "It is adorable."
"Are you sure you're 27 and not 10?" I tease.
"Last time i checked, yup."
I shake my head at him and get up.
"Let me change into some jeans and a top then we can leave." I tell him while walking into my bedroom.
"Yes ma'am." He says and does a two finger salute. I laugh at him and close the door.
Maybe Alexander Reed isn't as bad as i thought.
