He knows I'd never fire him, that's why he left with April by his side. I turn around and see all of my employees staring at me.
"You all have 5 seconds to get to work before I fire you on the spot." I say in a deep, loud voice without shouting and they all carry on with what they're doing. I walk past Gwendolyn and go back to my office.
I've called her more times than I can count. She definitely is purposely ignoring me because the moment I let the phone ring she declines the call.
"That was quite the show." Gwendolyn walks in and giggles as she talks.
"Get out." I spit.
She walks over to me, swaying her hips, looking stupid.
"But we didn't finish baby." She tries to put her hand on my shoulders but I grab them.
"We didn't start anything." I growl and throw her hands back to her side. "Why did you kiss me Gwendolyn?"
"When I saw you with her. It just reminded me of how you'll never find another girl like me."
"That's the point." I mutter under my breath.
"It reminded me of old times. Me and you Alex. All those days and nights." She trails her fingers up my forearm.
"You cheated on your fiance." I say and tear my arm away.
"You cheated on your...Girlfriend or was it best friend?" She laughs.
"You kissed me Gwendolyn, I didn't kiss you back." I inch closer to her and she steps back, her mouth forms a line. "I told you to leave but you just kept pushing. I don't want you. I don't love you-hell I don't even like you!"
I sit on my desk and run my hands through my hair thinking about April.
"Too bad April doesn't know that." She says and puts her hand on her hip in a classic mean girl pose. Don't judge me, April made me watch Mean Girls with her.
"Leave." I order. She looks at me and scoffs.
"I'll see you at my second engagement party. Seeing as your girlfriend ruined my first one." She smiles and leaves my office.
Immediately my fist slams hard against my desk. How did everything go wrong so fast? I look at my phone and notice a text from Chris.
CHRIS: April's staying with Conor at his hotel tonight. Don't go looking for her. Conor doesn't know, if he finds out he'll want to kill you way worse than I want to now. You better have a good explanation Reed.
I throw my phone at my desk.
Crap!
