It's been a week since me and Alex told each other we love each other...in the bath tub. Since then I feel like we've been closer to each other, I just hope one day I muster up the courage to tell him what happened to me. Me and Cassidy still have our amazing friendship. I filled her in on everything that's happened while she's been gone and honestly she fits in very well with me,Alex, Chris and Easton. Today is the day of the gala. The one I'm hosting and honestly I am not looking forward to it. I can't even sneak out because I'm the fricking host! Normally Alex drops me off to work because it's on his way and well he has a car but this week I've been going to work at 6 when really I start at 8. Alex decided to let me sleep on the bed everyday this week. Normally we rotate from the sofa bed to the actual bed but he thinks I need real sleep more than him. I don't disagree.
The gala starts at 7 pm. It's 1 pm right now and I'm working my Arse off trying to decorate the venue and making sure all of the artists deliver their work that they want to sell before 3 pm. Luckily my team are actually helpful so I'm not doing everything alone. We decided to decorate everything white and have specks of silver. Keep it classy and simple. Rylan was always on stand by when I needed him. We didn't let my broken friendship with Melanie get in the way of work and honestly he's fun to be around. Melanie's made attempts to reach out to me but I don't have time for her. As harsh as it sounds I much rather prefer her brother. After 2 hours of everyone working their butts off I tell everyone they can have a break. So, I decide for the first time I'm going to visit Alex at work. He's been awfully busy with his charity getting so much attention but I miss him. The past week we've been spending time together in the evenings but I always fall asleep before 10:30. I get an uber and ask for the man to drive me straight to Reed Enterprise.
I look at the building before I enter. It was absolutely ginormous. The windows were all chromed on the outside and the white letters that made up Reed Enterprise were so eye catching. I look down at what I'm wearing and shrug. I was wearing my black trousers and a white shirt today. I decided not to wear a dress until this evening because I figured I'd do a lot of moving around. I look at the double doors in front of me and walk in, praying that the women don't stare at me with daggers like in every single book and movie.
"Good afternoon how may I help you?" A young lady asks from behind the desk. She looks like she's in her early 20's and is drop dead gorgeous.
"Can you tell me where Mr Reed's office is please?" I ask politely.
"If you can give me your name, I'll check your appointment time."
"I don't have an appointment." I say, why is this what I expected it to be? Before the woman talks again I tell her my name hoping that maybe that means something. I want to surprise Alex, I can't do that is this lady tells him I'm here.
"Apologies Miss James. You've never been here so I didn't know it was you. Mr Reed's office is on the top floor opposite the elevator. You'll see it once your there. Apologies again Miss James."
The girl looks at me with a worried face, I don't know why. "Please call me April and It's okay, thank you." I smile at her and walk to the elevator.
"Excuse me, do you have an appointment?" I get stopped by another woman once I get to the top floor.
"No. The lady down stairs said I could go right up." I smile and try to start walking again but she stops me.
"Mr Reed is on an important phone call." She snaps.
"Well then, I'll wait until he's done." I say and try to walk but she stops me. Again.
