Author: BertaIsAwkward
Name: Collier "Coal" Flint
Age: 15
Sex: male
District: 12
Physical Description: Collier is a typical District Twelve sort of person. Appearance-wise, that is, since his personality is one of a kind. He has grey eyes, that seem normal from afar, but has specks of gold and green in the irises if you look just close enough. If you're that close, you can see his faint freckles on his pale skin, the scar running down his left cheek and cutting into his thin, pinkish lips. His nose is his most disliked feature- it has a weird bump in it, due to his tragic nose breaking accident, which was more funny than sad. He's of average height, maybe a little taller, and he's too thin to be alive. He has mousy brown hair with a fringe too long, which is one of the reasons why he can't really see well.
Personality: Collier is something similar to the weather. Unexplainable, weird, and definitely surprising, Coal is one of the strangest kids on his street. He's kind, but has a wild temper- he's sad, but also one of the happiest people. His parents aren't the best influence, which is the reason why he spends his time outside, meaning that he pretty much takes care of himself. He can get a bit narcissistic, but no one bothers to notice him anymore. He paints a lot, which is why the street is full of colour, though everybody's faces still stay rigid and grey. He doesn't plan on working in a coal mine, since he has enough coal in his name, and he is a lover of nature.
Background: Coal is pretty much the life and soul of a party, but at the same time the loneliest boy in the world. He spends his days on the streets, either painting with berries on the walls or ground, or asking for money and bread at the houses near Victor's Village. Which is one of the reasons why he broke his nose- the Victor's Village cats jumped him.
Coal grew up in a big family. Not that big anymore, sadly, since all his other siblings were reaped and killed in the Games. His mother went into depression and self-harm, and his father started drinking like a maniac. That was when Coal was seven, so he was and always will be the youngest who became the eldest.
His life, since he found art on the streets has been full of havoc and surprises at every corner. There has always been a helpful hand to lead him, and Coal has no idea what to do without one.
This means he's in for some more surprises- since it is very unlikely that anybody will help him in the Games.
Reaped/Volunteered: Reaped
Reaction/Reason: Collier's siblings all cried. He decided to be the odd one out, and walk to the stage with his head held high. But he broke down crying when he reached the steps.
Strengths: Collier can hide- very well, adding to the fact that he's hidden from his parents for quite some time- but mostly hide as in camouflage himself. Coal knows his plants- he can tell which is poisonous, and which isn't without the blink of an eye. He can also use throwing knives, for he's had to keep away the stray cats somehow, hasn't he?
Weaknesses: Coal is used to social life, being trusted, and trusting people, so that's one of his weaknesses. His emotions control his actions sometimes- who said men don't feel? His biggest weakness is the fact that he can't see well. His eyes are definitely bad, and he can't get glasses, he's so poor. So barely seeing is the trick.
Token: Coal's is, funnily enough, a charcoal pencil. He found it by the window of a Victor's house, not even sure what it was, but it was one of the reasons why he started drawing. And he feels like protecting the pencil will keep his siblings alive- since he found it while one of their Games was going on.
Wish: Coal is kind of selfish- He wishes that his family is cured, left alone, and that if he is able to, then let him lead a normal life, without anybody bothering him.
