Dark Horse [+1 to seeding]
This award is known to go to a character who has made it further than most would have guessed, and this Games I believe are a perfect example of this. Ranking near the upper-middle of the pack in auditions, and frequently scoring just high enough to dodge voting, sneaking all the way into finals. Every entry they handed in was of a slightly higher standard than the last, and so it should come as no surprise that this particular character has won this award.
Notable Other : Dylan Cole (SpookiPunk)
Winner: Lincoln Gardner (AverageEverydayHero) [8]Best Character [+2 to seeding, +1 for Runner-ups)
There were so many brilliant characters within these Games, and such a variety while we're there! There is one, however, who from the start of their form not only managed to be completely unlike anything I could have expected, but also break my heart. With a backstory which seemed to take root for its sadness in just how realistic it was, and a strong series of entries to follow suit, this character was definitely one to look out for.
Notable Others: Kerry Owens (forever-unfulfilled), Maria Thisbe (MagmaKepner) [5], Alicia Washington (TheCatKing) [29]
Winner: Kara Travis (-Raven-)The Heart Attack Award (for procrastination) [+1 to seeding, although I'm not sure why you're being rewarded...]
It seemed as though whenever there was half an hour left to hand in, with the exception of a task or two, there were three people whose names would come up each time. The amount of times I've wanted to say "Why is it that whenever there's procrastination around, you three seem to be in the middle of it?". However, I had to choose one character, and so this award goes to the author who made a habit of handing in within the last five minutes.
Runner-up: Sarah-Kate Wright (josie-tee) [7], Alicia Washington (TheCatKing) [29]
Winner: David Lowe (TheDarkHorse) [6]Best Entry [+2 to seeding, +1 for Runner-up]
With a batch of competitors this strong, it comes as no surprise that the entries I received fit the part just as well. I have decided not to count final entries for obvious reasons, but even without them, the job of choosing a recipient for this award was a difficult one. I did, however, decide that, at the end of the day, the strongest entry had to be the one that, when the time came, I failed to find a single criticism for.
Notable Other: Task Four: If You're Two-Faced... ~ Maria Thisbe (MagmaKepner) [5]
Winner: Task Six: On My Own /SF ~ Amari Fairland (katniss-everdeen) [4]Best Pair [+1 to seeding]
Many interesting alliances formed throughout the Games, often taking the form of pairings, and so I decided to celebrate them with this award. Often, people will associate the idea of a pair with a ship, and, while ships (especially the lovely one in this Games) can be great, the winner of this award is not one. I think we can all agree that, throughout the Games, one of the most interesting dynamics was that of our two astrophysicists, who often seemed to be in a world of their own and caused me to google so many terms my brain still hurts.
Notable Others: Lincoln Gardner (AverageEverydayHero) [8] and Kara Travis (-Raven-)
Winner: Maria Thisbe (MagmaKepner) [5] and Alicia Washington (TheCatKing) [29]Best Newbie [+2 to seeding, +1 for Runner-ups]
An award meant to celebrate competitors who are new to my Games, I was given plenty of good options throughout these Games. While none of those mentioned in this award are new to Wattpanem, they have decided that 51 would be their premiere to the world of my Games - and they sure did so with a splash! Our winner, however, managed to do so particularly well, snagging not only a spot in the finals, but also the award for the best character! I hope to see all of you again later on in the month.
Notable Others: Audrey Blackwood (IamSiobhan) [21] and Kerry Owens (forever-unfulfilled)
Winner: Kara Travis (-Raven-)Reverse Dark Horse [+1 to seeding]
In a Games with this many strong competitors, there was never much doubt that nobody was safe, no matter their reputation - those mentioned in this category, however, are perfect examples of this. Known to be strong competitors, but for some reason were faced with obstacles which had to cut their runs short, these characters saw their end before many would have guessed. Our winner, though they made it to the fourth task, suffered from a lack of time available and wounded up dying earlier than many, who took her fourth place in auditions as a sign they could expect her in the final dregs of the competition, had expected.
Notable Other: Solace Endy (Evercade) [11], Drake Bynes (-erudite-) 28]
Winner: Kerry Owens (forever-unfulfilled)Fan Favourite [+1 to Seedings]
With voting playing such a key part these Games, both with those who had stronger results and those who had less success, this award was particularly interesting in the sense that it results from a larger database than just the bottom of the pack. Our winner faced a round of voting (sometimes good, sometimes bad) each task, coming up with a total of 24 votes cast in their favour, which is 10 votes higher than any other character.
Notable Others: Audrey Blackwood (IamSiobhan) [21], Kerry Owens (forever-unfulfilled), Sarah-Kate Wright (josie-tee) [7]
Winner: David Lowe (TheDarkHorse) [6]Don't forget to cast your votes for the finals!
