Well, after almost a  full two days of voting and two full months of writing, these Games have  come to an end. But I'll skip the speech and get right to what matters.  That is, the rankings.

In fourth place...

District Two, Epona Jericho (katniss-everdeen) [3]

One of the strongest  competitors from the start and written by the only author to make it to  all three finals of this saga, Epona was a character to watch throughout  the Games. However it just so happens that she didn't quite manage to  leap the final obstacle, leading to an ultimate fourth place finish.

In third place...

District Twelve, Aya Brandley (SilverAndGoldfish) [4]

Yet another fan  favourite and written by the winner of Masquerade of Martyrs, Aya was a  threat from the very start, though some inconsistent entries almost  caught her death a few moments early on - not to mention the technical  malfunction that gave me a heart attack. Despite a tough way to it, she  eventually won a bye to final, leaving her to a definitely deserved  third place.

And in second place...

District Five, Nathaniel Morrison (TheDarkHorse) [8]

Despite having flown  rather under the radar for the vast majority of these Games, this author  stayed true to his reputation and he truly brought it at the end. With a  character and entries subtly but masterfully crafted, it's an honour  for me to grant him this second place.

Which means that the remaining tribute and our victor is...

District Nine, Aster Wheatleigh (theravensdiadem) [5]

Written by the one  author in this final who isn't considered a Games veteran (though she's  well on her way to it), last Games' best newbie was one of the biggest  threats from the very start, and I don't think it a stretch in the  slightest to say that she earned this win without a trace of doubt. It's  my honour to announce that our victor is Aster Wheatleigh!

Thank you all for a  great Games. It's been a pleasure, and I hope to see you on September  30th for the opening of my first smaller, experimental Games. Keep your  eye open for clues regarding what it might be!
