Author: SilverAndGoldfish [4]
Name: Aya Brandley
Age: Fourteen
Sex: Female
District: Twelve
Physical Description: Aya is a small girl for her age, which means that she's the height of the average ten year old. Her curly blonde hair is often pulled out of her face or mashed under a bandana. While not beautiful by any measure, Aya has a pleasant cuteness to her looks. Her eyes are a grey-blue color and are framed by a pair of crooked glasses that have been bent more than a few times. Aya has a small build but doesn't appear as emaciated as those who live in the poorer regions of District Twelve. There are a few scars on her skin from knife mishaps but most are pretty old.
Personality: Aya is a kind girl, for somebody who grew up in a butcher's shop. Her parents have instilled a respect for life in her but she has also grown up a little desensitized to bad things and gore, considering she's been exposed to them as long as she can remember. Aya has a mature outlook on life and can usually be described as serious. Her mind isn't an imaginative one; Aya leans more towards the logical side and is a little more intelligent than most people in her District. Despite this, Aya is still a child and doesn't know as much as she thinks she does. She can make rash decisions when she thinks that she's in the right but she'll stand by them no matter what.
Background: Aya grew up surrounded by dead animals, if that says anything for her childhood. She and her brother Lonan were raised in the little loft above their family's butcher shop and spent a lot of time the he when they were young. By the time she was seven, she began playing around with cleavers and nearly lost a few body parts by doing so. Lonan was her only friend during her earlier years but Aya thrived intellectually and also made friends once she was of schooling age. Her life is rather simple and, as far as she's concerned, it's a good one.
Volunteered
Reason: Aya didn't plan on becoming a martyr but once she heard the announcement that the winner would get a wish upon their victory, she couldn't help but step up. It was a split-second decision but she didn't regret it until after she volunteered.
Strengths: Aya is smart enough to think her way through many problems. She knows how to wield a knife well enough to use it. Aya knows a lot about different kinds of animals and plants.
Weaknesses: As a small girl, she's a little weaker physically than those from Career districts. Aya doesn't know how to swim or anything to that effect. While Aya can socialize effectively, she's not the best at making friends.
Weapon: Aya has a thing for knives, after her brother taught her how to use one when she turned nine and started helping around the shop.
Token: Her glasses. They're a little bit bent and not exactly right for her eyes but it's better than being completely blind.
Wish: Aya's wish is that the Games would stop after her victory. Plain and simple, she just wants them to be over and done.
