Name: Dylan Cole
Age: 21
Physical Description:
His skin a somewhat pale caramel tone and he has messy hair that is such a dark brown that to some people it appears almost black. He has a simple nose stud in his right nostril that he doesn't always wear, and his hair is cut in somewhat of an emo style, though sometimes he'll leave it so disheveled that it's more of just a mess than anything else. His eyes are a dark chocolate color and would be very attractive if everything else about him wasn't so sloppy. Usually he can be seen in an oversized grey hoodie over a striped long sleeve shirt, with slightly too large ripped jeans held up by a simple black belt.Personality:
He's generally fairly quiet for a guy his age, while most young adults would be out being loud and having fun, he usually stays in his apartment all day, reading. Even though he dropped out of college he's still extremely educated and a very deep thinker. He usually won't leave his apartment unless one of his few friends manages to drag him out, and even then he's still quiet and reserved, keeping most of his thoughts to himself. The only thing that really interests him is cryptozoology, the study of creatures whose existence has not been proven due to lack of evidence. This includes creatures like the Chupacabra, the Loch Ness Monster, the New Jersey Devil, Phantom Cats, Basilisks, Merpeople, and Yetis. This interest, along with his extremely introverted nature, is the main reason why he does not have many friends. Another reason why he doesn't have many friends is because the few times when he actually does speak his mind, he is usually very pessimistic and sarcastic, having an extremely morbid sense of humor. But if you do manage to get past his seemingly unapproachable outer shell, you'd find that he really is actually a fairly nice guy who's just looking to do something unique with his life.Brief Background:
Dylan's interest in cryptids started way back in middle school, when he had been more sociable and less of an introvert. He and some of his friends had been fooling around in an old abandoned mansion in the evening when the caretaker of the grounds finds them and scares them off, warning them to go home before the Devil found them and ate them. (The old man was referring to the New Jersey Devil, a creature said to inhabit the Pine Barrens of Southern New Jersey where Dylan lived.) Confused and intrigued by what the man meant, Dylan looked it up and was quickly enraptured with this creature and others like it, and he couldn't help but want to learn more.
Aside from this, middle school through high school ended up being fairly unnoteable years for him, defined only by the labels he carried each year. He was labeled an emo in freshman year because of his quiet nature and dark clothing, and even though he wasn't, he didn't really care so he would never tell them other wise. Sophomore year he had tried to change himself and be what other people valued, acting and dressing more like a punk. He was even somewhat of a player in this year, though when his date eventually found out about his unusual interest in cryptids, he was usually labeled a nerd and dumped. Junior and senior years was quiet years for him again, and he went back to his normal personality, spending more time alone learning more about cryptid lore, reading stories and researching information on his favorites such as the New Jersey Devil and the Chupacabra, than he did socializing. When the time came around for him to head off to college, the first degrees he looked for was ones in cryptozoology, parapsychology, or preternatural studies, but unsurprisingly, most colleges did not offer this. He ended up going to his state's university for a while for an undecided degree before eventually he just dropped out. Retreating back to his apartment, he decided he was going to live off of the money he made from his part time job down at the radio station until he figured out what he wanted to do with his life. This is when he heard about the fun going down in Area 51...
Why they signed up:
While most theories about Area 51 imply that extraterrestrial beings are the things hidden there and that it is a base just for testing new aircraft, Dylan believes there's more. He is under the impression that 51 is just the place for things the government does not want the public to know about. He's hoping that if he gets chosen for this, he might just find that one of the things hidden here might be one of the cryptids he's oh so dying to see.Extra:
He's pansexual so for him love has no gender.
He's not a heavy smoker, though he does smoke occasionally when he's stressed or just thinking really hard.-----------------------------
