Physical description:  Kara's dirty blonde hair gets more attention from its owner than it  lets on. Though she's never been concerned in the least about how she  looks, Kara still makes a tiresome effort to pull her hair up into a  ponytail, only to have the locks rebelliously slip from the tight grasp  of her hair tie. Face-framing pieces of greyish blonde give the whole  hairstyle its signature messy-ponytail look, accompanied by hazel eyes  that are pleasing to the eye but barely striking. Kara has a relatively  unimpressive build-not just slim but skinny, and also lacking in muscle.  As for her dress sense, simpler is always better.

Personality: Kara  has a jealous streak, something that often shines through due to the  dismal nature of her background. She can be an unsatisfied person with a  sense of imbalance, one who is easily angered or annoyed. It doesn't  help that her reckless determination and hotheadedness can cause  impulsive behaviour in response to her bitterness. All in all, Kara is  sick of life as a poor orphan girl and yearns to be someone more-bold,  significant, someone to be admired. In the stage of progression from her  teenage years to adulthood, Kara's is a spirit that has been ignited  with a determination to make choices of her own and to create a new life  for herself.

Brief background:  The story starts with Kara as a three-year-old, when the apartment  block holding her family's humble home came crashing down due to a  structural failure. This caused the death of both her parents, leaving  Kara, along with numerous other children, with neither a family nor a  home. Since then, Kara has been bounced between an orphanage and various  foster homes. The only person she saw as family was Lynn, a girl from  the orphanage whom she was told had been orphaned due to the same  building collapse. Now eighteen years and a couple weeks old, Kara is  back in the children's home and pending her fast-approaching release  into society.

Why they signed up:  Merely weeks from being released from the children's home as an adult,  Kara is clueless as to where life will bring her after she's lost the  protection of her former home. What awaits her appears to be an  unremarkable life of poverty, thus making participation in the mission  seem like a smooth and easy road to riches, fame and a life of glamour.
