Even the hackers have no  lead now. The world is in the dark, and the remaining seven explorers  are now completely and utterly alone.

Kerry Owens
Sarah-Kate Wright [7]

When they entered the  lab, there were fifteen of them. Now, four days later, just over half of  them are gone. The safe room is almost eerily empty now and there is  still no sign of the eight who have vanished forever. Shaken by the last  day, everything is coated in a deadly silence as they ponder what they  all know to be the truth.

They need to leave.

Bags are packed and  faces are grim as they consult the map of the laboratory to find their  way toward the door. But before they move on, they must honour those who  will never get to leave.

THE TASK

- I thought I'd give you  all a nice little reflection task. Your job is to, in some way, shape,  or form, think of the characters (as few or many as you wish) who have  died already and how they have impacted you. Simple, but tricky -  exactly what I'd expect all of you to manage.

ON VOTING: The  three entries who are less amazing than all the other brilliant entries  will be put up for votes. Two of you will die, leaving us with five  semifinalists.

WORD LIMIT: 2,000 words.

DEADLINE: Thursday, November 19th at 10 PM GMT.
