Hyun-Ji looked at herself in the mirror as she brushed her teeth for the third time that morning, trying to rid herself of the awful taste in her mouth. This was the second day in a row that she had been violently ill. She splashed cold water on her face and silently vowed to never eat squid again. Her stomach turned at the mere thought of it.

Her skin was on the upswing at least. It had calmed down to its baseline of rosacea. She could handle a permanent 'blush'. Home was also calmer which undoubtedly helped. Her dad had decided to be, dare she say, civil towards her and her mother. She wished it would stay that way all the time. He was tolerable when he was sober. Almost pleasant. Not quite, but almost.

It won't be much longer until I'm living on campus at university. I can deal until then.

She went back into her room to finish getting ready for the day. Thinking of university made her look over at the numerous brochures stacked up on her desk that different schools had mailed to her. She paused to pick up her current favorite and flipped through the pages:

Suite style dorms, laundry services, a fitness center if she decided to stop being a lazy ass, gamer cafe, movie theater, a ball pit, a steakhouse-

Hyun-Ji's stomach lurched after seeing the photos of well-plated dinners being consumed by supposed students. She swallowed and willed the sick feeling to go away.

Food was definitely out of the question today.

By the time she got to school she was feeling better. Summer was over and the atmosphere was gradually cooling, thank goodness. Cool temperatures always helped her when she had nausea, so the walk had worked wonders.

Hyun-Ji felt the tension in her shoulders release when she caught sight of a familiar face.  He was with his friend again, the tall pair exchanging animated banter. They seemed almost inseparable. Feeling brave, she made her way over to them.

Jungkook. She had forgiven him. It was a silly reason to be upset anyway. She didn't need him to be her babysitter. She was adult-ish enough take care of herself.

"Hi," she said quietly.

Jungkook quickly turned around at the sound of her soft voice. He smiled warmly, his bright eyes sparkling.

"Hi," he said in a lowered voice.

"Your voice is so cute!" An even lower, albeit louder, voice startled her. His voice was lower than my self-esteem.

"Shut up," Jungkook laughed, hitting Taehyung playfully.

"I'm Taehyung."

She waved shyly. "I'm Hyun- Oh you're a hugger!"

Taehyung had scooped her up into a bear hug before she could properly introduce herself. Jungkook covered his face in mock embarrassment.

"We're friends now," Taehyung said excitedly. It wasn't a request. If Taehyung imprinted on you, you didn't have a choice. You were going to be his friend. It was only a matter of time.
