An unexpected snowstorm had swept through the area overnight, leaving blankets of powdery snow and ice in its wake. Hyun-Ji walked gingerly through the snow and fought the urge to hold onto her growing belly for balance. The last thing she needed was to slip and fall. She was clumsy enough as it is, and her changing body was starting to make her quite accident-prone. Fall hazard aside, she thought the day looked absolutely magical.

There was a certain tranquility in the atmosphere after a snowfall, as if the snowflakes themselves were particles of calm quieting every part of nature it touched. Not a single cloud was in the sky to obstruct the crystalline azure. Even the sun had calmed from the blistering orb of summer to a shimmering celestial medallion that gently warmed the earth. It was a shame that such a day was going to be wasted inside a stuffy school. She would much rather take a walk through the woods to further absorb the surrounding peacefulness into her being.

She was quickly (or slowly, rather) approaching the campus, the bustle of chattering students pulling her from her reverie. That, and the sudden buzz of her phone.

JK: (Stop walking!)

Hyun-Ji looked at her screen incredulously but obeyed the command anyway. She rolled her eyes when she finally saw Jungkook trudging through the thick snow towards her.

By the time he reached her, Hyun-Ji was poorly concealing her smile within the cover of her fluffy scarf

By the time he reached her, Hyun-Ji was poorly concealing her smile within the cover of her fluffy scarf. Her personal escort had arrived. Maybe white knights were still in existence and chivalry wasn't dead after all.

"If you fall I'm going to kick your ass," he said, a playful smile reaching his eyes.

Yep. It was very much alive and well.

"Hurry up then! My feet are getting cold!" She laughed.

"You're such a baby," he muttered.

Jungkook offered his arm to her, a simple gesture that caused her face to glow and her stomach to turn flips. She took it and turned her head away from him, trying to hide her blush.

"Would the princess like me to carry her instead?" It almost sounded like an earnest question.

She shook her head furiously. "Nononono. I can walk just fine." She could only imagine the stares they would get for a display like that.
