"Come out with me today."

Jungkook lay on the couch in the family room with his earbuds in his ears and one of the many baby toys he'd purchased in his hands. The colorful toy was supposed to promote curiosity and brain development. He twirled it around absentmindedly while he talked.

"I don't know, Sujin. I'm not really feeling like being out around a lot of people today."

"Then we won't be around a lot of people. We'll keep it low key. See a movie or something. There has to be something in the theater you want to see."

"You're not gonna let me say no, are you?" A smile was tugging at his lips.

"No, actually. You've been cooped up in that house all day.  You need to get out and do something fun sometimes. All you do is work."

He hated to admit it, but she had a point. His relationship had taken up so much of his time and energy that he hadn't noticed he didn't do anything outside of it.

It would be nice to do something because he wanted to. It beat sitting there in solitude not thinking about her.

"Ok. I'll come out. But I'm not staying out all night. I have to work tomorrow."

"Deal. I'll have someone come pick you up in an hour. Wear a nice shirt."

"Wait, what?"

She was gone. He looked at his phone in disbelief. Why did his shirt matter?

Did she just set up a date?

It was too late to back out now. Once she put a plan in motion there was nothing anyone could do to stop it. It was easier to just let her have her way. So he went upstairs, showered, and put on a nice shirt.

True to her word, a black SUV came to retrieve him an hour later, although he silently wondered how the hell she knew where he lived. He shrugged it off. The chauffeur opened the door for him and offered him refreshments before departing, which Jungkook politely declined.

Sometime later they arrived in the underground parking garage of one of the exclusive downtown hotels, one of the hot spots of the city that was most frequented by idols and celebrities. Jungkook was escorted by the driver to the elevator, and finally to the opulent lobby where Sujin stood waiting for him.

She was wearing a button-down dress today. Her high heels extended her polished legs by at least a mile, and her lips were their signature cherry red. She was beautiful. He felt guilty for noticing the curve of her waist and the flare of her hips until he reminded himself that he was a single man that could at look whomever he wanted.

The fact didn't exactly make him feel better, though. He didn't like that he was single.

"Hi, handsome. Nice shirt."
