"Good news, Hyun-Ji-ya!"

Hyun-Ji got comfortable in her and Jungkook's bed, smiling into the phone at her mothers' excited voice.

"What is it, mom?"

Areum squealed a little before continuing. "Your aunt and I found a house in Busan. It's in a nice, quiet area, there's a big backyard for your cousins and the baby to play in when she's big enough."

Hyun-Ji listened, her smile growing while imagining the new home her mother would be moving to. Her aunt Youra's home was just large enough to accommodate her own family, and they didn't really have enough room for Areum to stay. Her mother didn't even have her own bedroom there, but she didn't mind, or at least she never let on that she did.

She was just happy to be in a safer, happier environment.

"The house is huge, Hyun-Ji. There are enough bedrooms for all of us. Bathrooms too. Your cousins spend way too much time in the mirror. I almost have to go pee outside," she laughed.

Hyun-Ji laughed with her. Her two younger cousins were at the cusp of puberty and obsessed with their appearances now.

"It's kind of far from the school, but that's ok. I can drop you off and pick you up after."

"Huh?" Hyun-Ji's blinked in confusion. "What do you mean?"

"That brings me to the best part," Areum said excitedly.

"What is it?" Hyun-Ji asked, less enthusiastically this time around.

"We can finally live together again! There's enough room for you here! I made sure of it! We can all live there together!"

Hyun-Ji's smile slowly faded, her breathing becoming shallow. "All... a-all of us?"

Areum's voice brightened even further. "Yes, baby! I can't wait! It's just not the same not having you here with me. I miss you so, so much, Hyun-Ji-ya."

Tears began to prick Hyun-Ji's eyes. The smile she put on quickly fell again as she spoke. "I miss you too, mom. Wh... when are you guys moving there?"

"In about a month. We're going to start packing the things we don't need right away and start clearing out the junk. They have a lot of stuff here they don't want to take with them. It'll be nice to have a fresh start, won't it? You and me?"

She nodded, a tear trickling down her face. "Yeah... That sounds... amazing, mom."

Areum squealed again. "We finished the paperwork this morning. I just couldn't wait to tell you."

"Wow. I... I can't believe this is happening so soon," she sniffed.

"Me too, baby! Oh, I wish I could hug you right now I'm so happy! I will soon, and every day. Both you and my grandbaby."

Hyun-Ji breathed out a laugh and wiped away the tears that continued to fall, her words failing her.

"How far along are you now?" Areum asked.
