"How much stuff did you buy?!"

Hyun-Ji marveled at the sea of boxes and shopping bags that filled the living room, and Jungkook and his father were bringing even more into the house.

"I just got a couple things." His words were nonchalant, but the smile on his face said so much more.

It said that he was finally feeling relieved after months of being stressed. It said that he could rest a little easier at night now that things were finally starting to come together. It said that he felt more ready and was excited to transition into his new life as a father.

Just a couple things, he said. There was barely any space to walk.

She held the door open for him as he carried yet another huge, heavy box into the house, and he stole a kiss from her on his way to prop it up against the wall.

"Look," he said, turning the tall box around so that she could see the photo of the contents. Inside was what would become the baby's crib. All he had to do was put it together.

"It's convertible," he continued. "It turns into a toddler bed with a guard rail so she doesn't fall out of bed at night, and then it can be used as a headboard for when she's ready for a big girl bed. What do you think?"

He was literally bouncing on his toes the entire time, seeking her approval of what he'd done, much like a child waiting for feedback on their macaroni art project.

He just wanted her to be happy with what he'd done.

He mirrored her growing smile with his own. "It's perfect," she said as she stared at the photo of a nursery on the box, her mind skipping ahead to when Blueberry would finally be here and sleeping in her new bed.

Jungkook beamed at her response and hurried over to the other side of the room to show her more, talking hurriedly as he picked out his favorite items for her to see. He had bought nearly everything, from clothes to diapers and everything in between.

"I got a really nice jogging stroller too," he said. "Sturdy bike tires, shock absorption, cargo space... You can even snap the car seat into the base so she'll be safe."

Hyun-Ji smiled at his excitement. "I don't jog, though. I don't need all that extra stuff."

"I do," he said. "I want her to be comfortable when she comes with me."

The innocent remark touched her profoundly. "You would take her out jogging with you?"

He nodded. "Yeah, if the weather is nice. Sure."

Hyun-Ji blinked away the tears and distracted herself from them by looking at what else he'd purchased with the sizable check he'd gotten from the photoshoot.

"Two car seats, Jungkook?" She giggled.

"Well, yeah," he smiled. "One is for your mom's car."

Hyun-Ji froze, staring blindly at the photo on the box.

"That way if I'm at work or something and the three of you need to go somewhere, we don't have to keep moving the one car seat back and forth."

But she barely heard his words. Neither Jungkook nor Areum knew how she felt about moving, and this was her reminder that her fantasy here with him was quickly coming to an end. Very quickly.
