"It feels like I haven't seen you in years! Look at you!"

Areum held Hyun-Ji at arm's length, marveling at how much her body had changed since they last were together. Jungkook looked on at the scene of the reunion with a smile on his face.

"Thirty-one weeks, right?" Areum asked.

"Yes ma'am," he answered, he and Hyun-Ji both nodding.

"Are you getting nervous?" She asked Jungkook.

He raised his eyebrows, his repressed fears circling beneath the surface, threatening to breach. "A little," he said, laughing nervously.

Terrified was a more appropriate response.

Areum held his hand in one of hers, and Hyun-Ji's in the other. "You're both going to do great. Our families will pull together and take care of this little baby girl. I can't wait to spoil her!"

Jungkook looked down at Areum as she spoke joyfully to them. Hyun-Ji had definitely gotten her beauty from her mother. They looked closer to siblings than mother and daughter. Jungkook, on the other hand, looked like an even split of his parents' features. He was often told he looked like whichever parent he was standing next to.

Who would Blueberry resemble? The thought made him forget about the storm inside him, if only for a moment. Hyun-Ji's voice brought him back to the conversation.

"I'll be back sometime this evening," Hyun-Ji said.

"Yes, I'm taking her to look at the house we're moving to. I'm so excited!"

Hyun-Ji tried her best to not let her smile falter. She still hadn't figured out what she should do and hadn't yet told Jungkook what was coming. How do you tell someone his family is suddenly moving away from him?

Jungkook smiled wider at her enthusiasm, still unaware that "we" also meant Hyun-Ji. He wrapped Hyun-Ji in an embrace and kissed the top of her head. "No rush, ok? Spend all the time you want with your mother. I'll be here."

Hyun-Ji gave him a small smile, while Areum watched the two, flowers of joy blooming in her chest. Her daughter had certainly picked the right person to be with.

They said their farewells and Jungkook closed the door behind them, resting his back against it. He trained his eyes to a spot on the floor and took a few steadying breaths, the anxiety inside him beginning to surface.

He quickly pushed himself away from the door and took the stairs two at a time. He needed to work. He could forget when he worked. He turned on the light in the nursery, took a look around, and picked up a paint scraper.

Hyun-Ji cautiously looked around the room as she entered the empty house, her footsteps echoing in the large space. Beautiful, dark hardwood floors covered the first floor, which contained the living and dining rooms, and the kitchen.

"There's carpet upstairs," Areum added, closing the door behind them.

Hyun-Ji silently walked further into the house. The kitchen had new and expensive-looking appliances, the living room had a fireplace. Out of the windows ahead of her Hyun-Ji could see the sprawling backyard. It was probably big enough to house a pool, a deck, and probably a garden.
