Ginny felt slightly guilty for Draco. She completely humiliated him and kicked him in the face, but he hurt her friend too many times. She had to put a stop to it. Even if it meant getting a months worth of detention.

—————

As Ginny heard the sweet sound of a crack, she knew her friend won't get anymore hassle for a long time.

She bent down and picked up a piece of toast, that wasn't on the floor, and jumped of the table chomping on the triangle, as the entire hall erupted in applause. Not from the slytherin house of course. As she reached the closed doors she spun around to give a bow, which triggered an even bigger applause.
Many stood. Her brother and his friends being the first.

'Bloody hell, Ginny!' Ron exclaimed, looking proud and admiring his sister, wondering why didn't he do that years ago? 'You are my favourite sibling!'

The rest of the comments consisted of 'Yes Ginny!' And, 'You kicked his ass!'

When she looked up, she was thankful only Hagrid was present, out of all the teachers. He stood by the doors at the front of the hall, a amused smile keeps onto his chirpy lips.
She gave Malfoy a quick wink and blew him a kiss, while he clutched his nose, comprehending what just happened.

After feeling satisfied with his bloody nose she turned on her heel as the doors magically opened and shut behind her as she walked back up to the common room.

Once the girl left the hall, Hagrid felt torn between what to do. He knew it was against school protocol to harm any school member, but Draco was in the wrong and deserved to be embarrassed. He knew if he told Snape, he would kick the little Weasley out of school and if he told Mcgonagl, well, he wasn't sure what she would do. Hagrid turned to the only teacher he knew would do the right thing.

Dumbledore.

Hagrid then took out his quill, from underneath his scruffy beard and began to write to the old man. He then attached it to the school owl, the teachers used, and flew away, leaving a brown feather, in its place.

All Hagrid could do was pray he did the right thing.

As Dumbledore sat in his grand office, a small smile spread across his wrinkled face. He knew what happened moments ago.

I mean he IS Dumbledore- he knows everything.

A brown owl suddenly appeared on his table. His smile grew.

Just as he expected.

He knew Hagrid would tell him.

The old man then untied the letter from the owls leg and read it:

Dumbledore,

As I was in the grand hall, Young miss Ginny Weasley came in and battered the poor Malfoy boy, leaving him with a bloody nose. However, sir, Draco was rather horrid to miss Lovegood (Ginnys good friend) so her intentions were for the good.

I was very shocked and wasn't too sure what to do, so I am telling you.

Hagrid

Ps. Please don't expel Weasley, she is a lovely girl.

After reading the letter, he knew was coming, he lay back on his chair, twirling his beard around his finger, as his mind ticked.

He could expel her, but he knew he wouldn't do that. Snape would if Hagrid told him.
He could give her a few months worth of detention, which he knew Mcgonagl would do.

But what would he do?

As he debated what to do, a genius plan entered his mind.

He would create a transfer program! Yes, he thought, feeling proud of himself. One person from each house would be moved into another and Ginny would be picked to move into slytherin.

As he sorted his final arrangements he contacted all the teachers and told them the plan.

The next day, Ginny was told she would have a months detention- an easy punishment, she decided. Though she did think it was too easy- even for Dumbledore. Something was going on.

And she was going to find out.

Over the next few weeks Ginny had begun to see a lot more of Draco and his friends. She saw him at least once a day, him giving a tiny smile, which was soon replaced by a glare and she the same. They even had a conversation- with no insults.

Maybe Malfoy isn't as bad as she thought.

One day, Ginny was walking towards the library, to do her herboligy homework, when she bumped into Draco.

'I'm sorry.' Said Malfoy.

Ginny was shocked to hear those words coming out of his mouth- was she hallucinating?

'Are you okay?' She asked, concerned by his sudden change of attitude.

'Yeah I'm fine. I just wanted to say sorry for being mean to you and your friends. It was wrong of me and I am sorry.'

Saying those words bought so much weight off his shoulders. His father was making him do it, to please the dark lord, but he wouldn't tell Ginny. Well not now at least.

His father was once a good man, but after tampering with dark magic, he was lost. He began abusing him and his mum, forcing him to do bad things. Draco stood up to him a few times, but that didn't end well. You can imagine what happened.

All Ginny wanted to hear was those words, she knew he wasn't as bad as he pretended to be. Ginny was going to find the real Draco.

She knew he didn't have the perfect home life, having death eaters as parents was not easy, and being an only child- well Ginny didn't know what she would do without her brothers. She felt sorry for him.

As she picked up her books, she looked into his eyes. He was genuinely sorry. Not the cocky smile coating his lips, but a face of sorrow and as she looked into his icy orbs, she knew in his heart was a good person. All she needed to do was break the wall around it.

She then did the thing she promised herself she would never do- or even think of.

She hugged him.

Ginny and Draco were both taken back by her actions. They weren't big huggers- they thought it made them look weak, but Ginny couldn't help it. And Draco couldn't help melting into her embrace.

They felt safe in each other's arms. Draco never felt safe, but being with Ginny, he felt untouchable. He was on cloud nine.

'I'm sorry, too.' She said.

As they broke the hug, they exchanged awkward glances and left. Ginny to the library and Draco to his common room, Dumbledore has a big speech tonight, and Draco was eager to know what it was about.
