Blaise and Pansy arrived to the common room about five minutes later. Draco and Ginny had started a conversation over quidditch and soon was having a heated argument over which team was the best.

"Are you serious? The Harpies are old and useless!" Exclaimed Draco, earning a hard punch on the shoulder.

"Shut up! They have some of the best players in the country!" Ginny defended, as Blaise and Pansy stood in-front of them.

"So you guys missed breakfast to talk about quidditch?" Asked Pansy a cheeky smile on her face.

"Shame, for it was cinnamon rolls today, Draco, your favourite." Said Blaise, crossing his arms over his chest, looking pleased with himself.

Ginny's stomach grumbled, cinnamon rolls were also Ginny's favourite, she was irritated she missed out.

"What? What time is it?" He asked Pansy, jumping of the couch.

"About half past nine, I recon you have fifteen minutes to get to lunch before it is over." Before she could finish he had already left and was heading for the door.

"Wait for me!" Yelled Ginny who followed, eager to get a roll, leaving Pansy and Blaise to walk behind.

As Ginny raced down the hall, she passed the golden trio: Harry, Hermione and her brother, Ron. They were in deep conversation and only once she passed them she heard Harry.

"Ginny?"

"Sorry, Harry, can't talk!" Yelled Ginny over her shoulder, as she entered the grand hall.

Forgetting she was no longer a griffindor, Ginny continued down the red table. Just as she hovered over her seet, next to Neville, she realised she had to sit on the Slytherin side.

Standing back up, she said a quick apology to her old Griffindor friends, and walked off to the Slytherin table. Draco sat across from her, a cinnamon roll stuffed in his mouth as he laughed at her.

"Shut up and pass me a roll." Ginny said sourly, glaring at her fellow Slytherin. Chuckling, he did so.

They ate in silence as Pansy and Blaise walked in.

"Hi guys, I see you have finished off the cinnamon rolls." Snickered Blaise, as he grabbed an apple and sat down.

Ginny and Draco flipped him the bird as they continued to shovel the rolls into their mouths.

"That is truly disgusting." Remarked Pansy as she sat down, and tried to stray her eyes away from the two pigs before her.

"Cinnamon rolls are delicious!" Exclaimed Ginny and Draco. They turned to each other and burst out laughing. Ginny was surprised at how much fun she was having with the Slytherins, and not just any Slytherins, but these three. Especially Malfoy.

Breakfast soon ended, and Blaise, Draco and Ginny went of to potions with Slughorn. Pansy had herbology, so walked off to her class.

Ginny entered the room first and grabbed a book from the side.

"Ginny!" Waved Hermione, as she sat, alone, at a desk, two from the front.

Ginny smiled and returned the wave to her friend, but turned away to sit next to Draco.

"I did not get turned down for Malfoy?" She spoke, hardly loud enough for anyone to hear.

"I think so..." Said Harry, stunned. Watching the three, he forgot he had his quill in his ink and spilled it all over himself, as he moved to get a better view.

Ron was red with anger and had scrunched up his parchment in his hand, his many veins popping out weirdly.

Ginny had no clue that her brother, old crush and friend were watching her, and continued to chatter to the boys.

"Students! Calm yourselves!" Yelled the professor, trying to calm down the upbeat children.

Unknowingly, Ginny sat next to Draco, their knees and elbows almost touching. Blaise sat behind them, next to his friend, Theo.

As Slughorn began teaching, Draco leaned down and whispered in Ginny's ear, "You seemed to have attracted quite the crowd." As he turned to surveil the room of students, looking to the unlikely friends.

Ginny followed his stare, sure enough their classmates had taken interest in the pair.

"Oh well, they can stare all they want. I don't care." She stated, loud enough so the people around her could hear, but not so much so that Slughorn would notice a student talking.

After that, some eyes diverted their paths, while some bold few kept their eyes put- that including the golden trio.

"Well put Weasley." Nodded Draco, "how does it feel anyway? To be a Slytherin- Any murderous thoughts?" He said sarcastically, a bitter edge to his words.

Ginny thought for a moment. Before the house change, Ginny believed all Slytherins to be evil, spiteful, callous creatures and wanted nothing to do with them. Now being one and hanging around with them, she realised they were just like her; young children trying to have some fun.

"Before I got moved, I thought all you Slytherins were nasty pieces of work and had malice running through your veins, but now," she looked straight at Draco's eyes, to him it felt as if she stared right into his soul, "now I know you are more than that. You're no different from any house. You can be amusing, agile, amiable. I was wrong... sorry for being so arrogant and cliched. It was wrong of me." And with that she turned her attention back to the professor, answering his question he asked.

As Ginny continued to work, she realised she apologised. She had never apologised that quickly. She felt at peace saying it to, which surprised her. She was liking this new, relaxed, forgiving side of herself. She wanted to let it be set free. The only thing stopping her was the little voice at the back of her head, telling her to forget her new friendships altogether. But even if she didn't believe it right now, but her unlikely friends were uncovering sides of herself she never knew she had.

Draco sat there agape. The princess of griffindor. The girl who broke his nose infront of the whole school. The youngest and only girl Weasley. All these things and she just apologised to him? Like that? She said it so easily, but made it sound as if it was heartfelt.

He suddenly felt a newfound respect for the red head- it would have taken Draco days to apologise.

He watched her for the rest of the lesson, though she didn't know it, an unfamiliar sensation was burning in his core. Little did he know, the girl sitting beside him was its spark.
