"It's all gunna be fine." Reassured Pansy, as she and Ginny walked into the great hall.
"What if everything changes when I move back?" Ginny asked, looking defeated.
"Only if we let them, will they change." Smiled Pansy, "anyway, school ends in a few days, and when we get back we'll be up a year. I'll be starting my last, when you start your second to last."
"Exactly! I'll hardly see you!" Exclaimed Ginny, as they sat down on their seats.
"Just chill." Pansy laughed, as she scooped some mash on her plate.
"It feels like the last supper." Sighed Ginny, massaging her temples.
"You're so over dramatic." Stated Pansy, rolling her eyes.
"We'll miss you, Red." Said Blaise, as he sat next to the red head.
"Same." Agreed Ginny, sadly, as Blaise gave her a quick side hug, before digging into the food.
"Hey babe." Said Theo, cheerfully, as he sat down next to Pansy, kissing her cheek.
"Hey." She answered, as Theo took a glance to the front of the hall.
The teachers table had a small line of bunting hanging off the sides; each piece of material a different colour- representing the four houses. In front of the table, a aged pointed hat sat. The dreaded sorting hat.
"How come the hat is here? I thought we get the New Years when we come back?" Asked Theo, as the others rolled their eyes.
"I move back today, Theo." Said Ginny, bluntly.
"On shoot! Sorry, Gin- totally forgot." He apologised, "so, the last supper." He said, as Pansy glared at him.
"I told you!" Exclaimed Ginny, as Theo looked confused.
"Stop being a drama queen." She tutted, as Draco walked over to them.
"That's rick coming from you." He said, lightly, as he sat besides Blaise. "The Weasel finally scuttling back to her house." He said, glancing at Ginny.
"Go stuff yourself." Sneered Ginny.
For most of the term, Ginny and Draco had been acting as they had before Ginny moved; insulting each other. All for show of course.
"Can you two quit it? Before coming back, you two were like two peas in a pod. I don't get it." Said Blaise, shaking his head, slightly, as he took a bite of some bread.
"Well that's just life." Said Ginny, calmly, as she saw Seamus look over from the Griffindor table, and give Blaise a smile- which he returned.
"Talk about two peas in a pod." She muttered, as she elbowed the boy besides her, making him scowl at her.
"Attention please!" Announces the voice of Dumbledore, who stood behind the owl speaking stand, looking over the children. "Today, the four students who moved shall be sorted into their new houses." He spoke, as a few sighs and moans were heard. "First, can the four please make their way to the front?" He asked, as four children stood.
Including Ginny.
All walked on trembling kegs to the front, each just as anxious as the other to their new house. Gregory Goyle, the new Ravenclaw and old Slytherin reached the front first, and stood to Dumbledores right. Next to reach the front was Terry Boot, a Ravenclaw who moved to Hufflepuff. To his right, Susan Bones stood, tears running down her face.
Last to reach the front was Ginny.
Her face was one of stone, but her eyes bled with anxiousness and worry. She had made some good friends in Slytherin, and felt happier around them, and now she would be thrown back into her old life. Her heart ached.
"Mr Goyle, please sit." Said Dumbledore, offering him a small stool.
The teen did as he was told, and perched on the wooden stool, waiting. Dumbledore then turned to McGonagall, who gave him the sorting hat, and placed it on Gregorys head.
"Mhhhh... now this is difficult. You have qualities of both Slytherin and Ravenclaw. A bright mind, but a sly personality. I think I'll put you... Slytherin!" The sorting hat announced.
Gregory stood as his blue robes turned green, walking down to the Slytherin table, looking down.
"Terry Boot." Announced Dumbledore, as the boy walked to the front and took a seat on the stool.
"Hmmmm... I know what to do with you. Hufflepuff!" The sorting hat spoke, as Boots face lit up.
The former Ravenclaw jumped off the stool and ran over to his applauding friends on the Hufflepuff bench, while the Ravenclaws sat with wide eyes.
"Now now. Miss Bones?"
The emotional girl dragged her feet to the stool, and sat down, Dumbledore placing the hat on her head.
"Hmmm... kind, and loyal, but also brave. I think you'll go... Hufflepuff!" The sorting hat exclaimed, as the girls robes changed.
She walked back to her old house, wiping away tears.
"Miss Weasley." Dumbledore asked, finally.
To Ginny's felt like hours till she reached the front of the stage and sat down on the stool.
"Good luck." Said Dumbledore in a whisper, placing the hat on her head.
"Hmmmm.... very very difficult. Intelligent, kind, but so brave and ambitious. Your traits to all houses are powerful, but Griffindor and Slytherin over rule by a fraction. But where to put you.... I think G- no Sl- no Gri- no." The hat continued to go on this way, causing Ginny's heart to skyrocket.
Her nerves were all over the place, but felt so determined to have an answer. Her eyes only looked at a pair of silver ones, as she trembled in the chair.
Soon the sorting hat began to leak out smoke, scorching Ginny's head, but when she finally kept out of the chair and tore the burning hat from her head, found the hat frozen over.
She looked desperately to Dumbledore, who stood with an expressionless face.
"What just happened?" She asked him, desperately, but got no answer.
As she looked down at her colourless robes, she staggered back and flew down the steps, leaving the hall, running.
