"Oh my gosh! Gin, babe," Pansy yelled from the dress shop window.
She looked around to find her friend on the opposite side of the street with the boys, admiring the newest broom. Rolling her eyes, she stormed up to the four, and placed a firm hand on Ginny's shoulder.
"Come on- we need to get you a dress." She smiled, "and boys," she called over her shoulder, "I expect you to have your suits by the tine we are done." She said, sternly, as she dragged Ginny into the dress shop.
As soon as Ginny stepped foot in the shop, she immediately felt her magic inside her intensify. It was as if she knew something was in here, heightening her magic orb. She didn't know what set it off, but knew it was somehow connected to her, and very, very magical.
"Madam Malkin?" Pansy asked, as they stepped through rows of dresses.
"Yes, dear?" A kind voice answered, as a wrinkled lady stepped into the girls view.
"Do you think you could find myself and my friend some dresses for the schools ball?" Pansy asked.
"Of course. Your mother came in only the other day for a gown." She said to Pansy, "And- sorry, dear, you don't happen to be Mollys girl?" She asked, looking over to Ginny.
"Yes I am." She answered, unsure of what else to say.
"Oh- your mother and I go back years. A fine stream-stress she was, lovely lady. You know, I would never have had this shop, if it were not for her." She smiled.
Looking over the girls, the old lady, urned to pick out a handful of dresses.
"I know what dress you girls need." She smiled. "Just wait in the dressing room and I'll be back in a tick."
Disappearing into the jungle of fabrics, the lady left, leaving the girls to find the dressing room.
"Do you recon the boys have found their suits yet?" Pansy asked, laughing to herself for she already knew the answer.
"No way. They'll probably pick up the first robes they see and leave the shop." Ginny laughed, as she looked over all the dresses.
From the corner of her eye, she spotted Madame Malkins head pop out from the sea of dresses, carrying a dozen gowns behind her. A triumphant smile coated her face, as she bounded up to the girls.
"I have a selection of dresses I think you girls may like." She smiled, swishing her wand, splaying the garments across the room.
Ginny looked over the vast flashes of blues, reds, greens, pinks and yellows fly around the room. Pansy drooled at the sight; each dress prettier than the next. Though Ginny didn't like any of the gowns. They all looked plain- as if they had no character.
"Oh, can I try that one?" Asked Pansy, pointing to a navy blue dress, that had small sequins over the hem. It was floor length, and had long, tight, transparent navy arms, reaching her forearm.
Madame Malkin waved her wand and the dress flew down and landed on the hook in the dressing room.
"Just pop it on then I'll get all the measurements." Malkin said, as Pansy smiled and headed in the room.
"Any dresses you like?" She asked Ginny, who looked slightly bored.
"Sorry Madame Malkin, but no." She said. "This is actually my first time dress shopping."
"Oh? But I could tell as soon as you walked in my shop you'd suit a dress. I could feel the air shift." She smiled.
Ginny wanted to pursue and follow through her statement, but Pansy slid the dressing room curtain to the side, revealing her in the dress.
