"I can't believe it'll be Christmas in a few weeks." Said Blaise, the crackling flames of the fire dancing on his face.

"I know. We'll have to have a party before school and give gifts since we are all going home for the holidays." Said Theo, who sat on the sofa next to Draco, playing exploding snap.

"Urgh, don't remind me." Shivered Draco.

He was sure Voldemort was going to ask him to join the Death Eaters, since he was at school with Potter. However, Draco didn't want to get wrapped up in that mess- he didn't even like the idea of Voldemort. It scared him knowing he had no choice in his life.

"What do you mean?" Asked Ginny, looking up from her charms book.

Draco exchanged looks with the rest of the group, pleading them to save him. He didn't want to get Ginny involved with his demons- he knew it would break her.

"We could use the Room of Requirements." Said Pansy, trying to sway the subject away from Draco and his family.

"What?" Asked Ginny, looking pissed off.

This hadn't been the first time a member of the group had changed the subject from Draco and his family. She was beginning to think they were all hiding something from her. Ginny also noticed Draco had been distancing himself from her- always making sure they were never alone together, or only talking about school work. It felt as if she was loosing the other half of her soul.

"I'm sick of this! Your hiding something from me. Don't you trust me? What do I have to do to prove myself? I thought you guys accepted me." She said, sadly, packing her things away.

"No! Gin, of course not!" Draco said, standing up.

"Well it doesn't feel like it." She huffed, "I'm going to the library. If your not going to tell me what's going on, don't bother coming after me." She said, leaving the room.

"Just tell her already." Sighed Blaise.

"She'll hate me! I hate keeping it from her, but I don't want to lose her." Draco sighed.

"I think you are already loosing her." Sighed Theo, as he stared at the door, which Ginny entered.

"I don't want her to think of me like the bad guy." He sighed, covering his face in his hands.

"I think Ginny will understand- look how she supported me. Have faith that she'll understand." Said Blaise. "Anyway, she's going to be gone for the holiday and you don't want to leave on bad terms."

"Anyway, your bonded so she can't stay mad at you forever, right?" Said Theo, earning a smack around his head from Pansy.

"Just tell her!" Ordered Pansy.

"Fine. But if she leaves us I'm gunna say I told you so." Draco huffed, leaving for the library.

He ran down the halls toward the library, dodging other students blocking his path.

"Watch it Malfoy." Sneared Ron, as he dashed past.

Biting his tongue, he carried on his route.

He entered the library and  stopped, looking around the room for the red head. He spotted her autumn hair hidden in piles of books, tucked away in the corner.

He walked up to her. Ginny's brown eyes met his, glaring hatefully at him.

"So, anything you wanna tell me?" She asked, snapping her book closed, giving him her full attention.

She rested her chin on her hands as he sat down opposite her. Her fierce, blazing look made his heart stop beating. After their patronus lesson, Draco felt so much more connected to Ginny, and by keeping his secret from her hurt him even more.
