Walking to the great hall, Ginny tried to catch the eye of the blonde Slytherin, ten steps to her right. He had been avoiding her for the entire train and carriage journey, and it was beginning to sour Ginny's mood. She had spent her entire holidays worrying about him and now they could finally see each other, he was blanking her.

Huffing only annoyance, Ginny decided to confront him later, and focused on her friends.

"So, Seamus, how was your holiday?" Asked Ginny, as she walked by his side.

"Oh you know- mam wasn't too happy about me going back, but dad got her to come around." He said, smiling slightly.

"Have you spoken to Blaise?" Asked Ginny, as Seamus's face dropped.

"I spoke to him briefly on the journey here- he told his mother he was gay and she kicked off- said he aught to marry a pure blood witch." He said sadly.

Ginny's heart fell. Seamus and Blaise had worked so hard through their friendship to now be in a relationship- Mrs Zabini had to ruin it with her ideology's.

"How did he take it?" She asked.

"He was angry- left the house and crashed at Theo's. I can't believe he didn't tell me for the whole holiday." Seamus sighed.

"Did you tell your parents?" Ginny asked.

"Yeah. Me mam wasn't too happy, but dad got her to come around. Said after all this mess with Voldemort is over, they'd have him round for tea." He said, as his eyes turned glassy.

Feeling bad for her friend, Ginny dabbed his eyes with the corner of her robe and gave him a hug.

"Blaise is never going to stop loving you. It's his mothers loss. You'd be the best son in law." She smiled, kissing his cheek.

"Thank you, Ginny. You're going to find a guy who will treat you like the queen you are." He smiled, as Ginny began walking again.

Little did Seamus know, there already was.

Sitting at the Gryffindor table, in colourless robes, Ginny found her mind drifting away from her friends and to the other side of the room, towards the table cloaked in green. Running her eyes down the length of the seats, and searching for the head of blonde hair and silver eyes.

Reaching the bottom of the table, Ginny could see Blaise and Draco- facing Ginny, as Theo and Pansy sat opposite them, their backs facing her. They looked to be in a lively conversation- however Draco wasn't speaking. His body sat stiff, his shoulders tense, as his elbows propped up on the table, resting his head on his hands.

Trying to catch his attention, she picked up a cinnamon roll and charmed it to shrink, then fly over to the green table. Nobody noticed the flying pastry, as it dropped into his mug with a small splash. As Draco noticed the sound, Ginny smirked, tapping her finger on the table as the sweet treat expanded, breaking the cup as it's size couldn't fit the goblet. The drink spilled all over him, causing him to stand up with a yelp.

After recovering from the shock, Draco's eyes found the reason for the disruption. Picking up the roll, a barely visible smile found his lips as his eyes met Ginny's.

Smiling slightly, Draco took the time to look over her.

Her face had lost its natural smile, and now took one of stone cold- like Draco's has been when he was at the manor- always on the defence, like a coat of armour. It was almost as if she had grew a second skin. Her eyes were blazing, as if she still had hope- but had a determined edge, making her look more intimidating than her last year.

It looked as if she were a leader- a look that even the Minister of Magic would die for to make his people feel safe. She had the same affect Dumbledore had- making everyone she had an alliance with feel safe. She had become a strong independent young witch, and was fully of capable of making decisions for herself.

And from the Phoenix pendant, pinned to the sweater she wore, poking out from under her robe, it was clear which side she stood for.

His lips quirked slightly, as his eyes squinted.

He was a death eater.
-
She was part of The Order.

He was a villain.
-
She was a hero.

When she'd find out Draco would kill Dumbledore and set death eaters loose in Hogwarts, she wouldn't want anything to do with him.

Scowling in shame, Draco dropped his eye contact with her and walked out the room, only a few people noticing his departure.

Ginny's eyes watched him, tense, and as the grand doors closed behind him, snapped her eyes shot, whipping her head back to her plate. The cinnamon roll shrunk again and sped back to her, zooming over the heads of clueless students, and as it morphed back to its original size, she held her arm up, catching the pastry as it stopped in her hand.

"Blimey, Gin, I get you like cinnamon rolls, but must you shove them in my face?" Asked Neville, laughing nervously.

"Oh sorry." Ginny replied, setting the pastry back down on her plate.
