Ginny and Hermione bounded down the tinselled stairs in their pyjamas. Ginny wearing her silk pyjamas Charlie had given her, years ago from Romania, while Hermione wore her muggle onesie. As her bare feet hit the cool ground floor, Ginny saw her parents standing by the Christmas tree, smiling happily as Harry and Ron sat in the opposite sofa.
"Morning girls! Merry Christmas!" Exclaimed Molly, as she rose from her seat and engulfed the two girls in a hug.
"Merry Christmas mum." Ginny said, as she hugged her father, "Merry Christmas dad."
They hugged the boys and sat down around the tree, exchanging presents.
Ginny smiled, but inside was worrying about Draco. She knew it must be hell for him, and it killed her knowing he was in danger and she couldn't do a thing. She thought about writing to him again, but since he hadn't written to her in so long, she assumed he did not want to talk.
Twiddling with the chain around her neck, she sunk into the back of the sofa, thinking about Draco. She prayed he'd still be okay by the time they got back to school.
"Ginny dear, open your presents. You've been staring at that necklace for- Ronald stop feeding the owl your chocolate frogs!" Scolded Mrs Weasley, turning to her youngest son, who was about to give Piggywigeon some of his chocolate frogs.
"Sorry mum." He said.
As Mrs Weasley went around the back of the tree, Hermione hit him round the head.
"Please tell me you didn't seriously believe Seamus when he said owl hallucinate when they eat chocolate?"
"But-" he began, but Harry cur him off.
"Dude, your so gullible." He laughed.
Turning to the present at her feet, Ginny picked up the neatly founded box, wrapped in newspaper. Pealing back the old news, she admired the framed photo of herself and the harpies.
Under each persons photo, a lovely note was written.Tucked in the back of the frame, a small letter said, 'welcome to the team.' Excited, she jumped up and opened the envelope, that lay on the other side of the wrapping.
There was the full forms accepting Ginny into the Holly Head Harpies.
Squealing with joy, Ginny jumped off the sofa and spun around.
"Yes! Yes! Yes! I'm in!" She squealed, as the rest of the room stared at her, confused.
"What, Gin-bug?" Asked Mr Weasley from his arm chair.
"I'm a Harpie!" She beamed, as she threw her arms around her father.
At the Manor, Narcissa and Lucius crept into their sons room.
Most of the other death eaters had gone out to give the muggles their 'gift' while the family had managed to slip out of murdering innocent people, and stayed home to try and have a good Christmas.
"Draco?" Narcissa asked, closing the door behind her, as Lucius roamed the room.
The bathroom opened revealing the boy, his wand raised, looking distressed. His hair stuck at all angles, like a hedgehog, and his face was paler then usual. Fearful for going downstairs, Draco hadn't eaten much, his cheek bones sticking out more from the deprivation of food.
"Oh, mother. I thought you were one of them." He sighed in relief.
"Well put your wand down, we are your parents." Spoke Lucius, handing him a plate of food he had carried in.
"Sorry." He said, taking the plate, appreciatively.
Walking over to his bed, he sat perched on the edge, while his mother sat on the armchair besides it. His father leaned against the wall.
"Merry Christmas, son." Said Narcissa, handing Draco a present wrapped in green paper.
"Thank you mother. You didn't have to-" but he stopped speaking after his mother gave him the deadliest glare.
"You. Are. My. Son." She growled, as Lucius walked up to her and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder.
"What she is trying to say is, shut up and open it."
Smiling lightly, Draco obliged, and tore off the wrapping to reveal a pair of pair of dragon skin boots.
"I charmed them so they run away from danger. One of my old friends from my Hogwarts days went on to become a dragon worker in Romania. I believe he works with Ginny Weasley's brother." She said, after cooling down.
"Thank you." Draco smiled at his parents.
Standing up, he walked over to his parents as his mother wrapped her arms around him, soon followed by his fathers.
"I just want to tell you how amazing parents you are and I love you so much." He said, as silent tears fell down his face.
"You're the best son I could have ever had." Narcissa whispered in a trembling breath.
Pulling away from the hug, Lucius was the first to speak.
"I have managed to get the Dark Lord to allow you two to go shopping at Diagon Alley soon." He said, "Now listen son, that Weasley girl will be in danger if the Dark Lord finds out you two are courting. I think it may be safest if you stop this relationship you have."
"What? But dad-"
"Your father and I have agreed that this is the safest for you both. As long as no one knows of your feelings for each other, you shall both be safe." His mother said, gently, "We just want to keep you safe."
Draco was lost for words. He knew his parents accepted his relationship with Ginny, so why would they want them to split up? He knew his father did not like hers, but he still managed to cope with him and Ginny going out. Draco was actually surprised as to how calm Lucius was about the relationship.
"The Dark Lord wouldn't like you with Blood Traitors- and especially the Weasleys. Though your mother and I don't want to stand in between you both, we need to keep you safe." He said, "Please, son. Just trust us on this."
Reluctantly, Draco nodded his head.
"Thank you." Narcissa sighed, kissing his forehead.
A sudden bang brought the three blondes attention to the door, as they heard the front doors clash against the wall as they were thrown open. Chilling cackles and voices filled the ground floor, seeping up the stairs.
"Looks like they are back." Sighed Draco, as his parents nodded sadly and left the room.
"Oh Sissy! You should have seen those muggles faces when the life got ripped from their eyes." Cackled Bellatrix, jumping up and down in-front of her sister, clapping her hands.
"We're not animals, are we Bellatrix. Stop behaving like a child." Spoke Lucius, as the crazy haired woman huffed and stomped her feet, strutting off to a group of death eaters in the corner.
"I can't wait till Draco goes back to Hogwarts. I will finally be able to breath and not worry so much." Sighed Narcissa, facing her husband so no one could hear her worry.
"As can I." Sighed Lucius, holding her hand lightly.
