Sitting alone in her empty room, as the order members kept to the dining room, discussing the latest on Voldemort and his followers, Ginny sighed, feeling more alone than ever.
At school Ginny always had someone to talk to: either Pansy, Luna, Hermione- anyone Ginny liked. But now alone- she realised how badly she craved human contact.Walking to her window, Ginny perched on the ledge and gazed into the night sky. Constellations covered the pitch black cloak and Ginny's eyes moved to the brightest star.
"What am I doing?" She asked, hopelessly, "Harry, Ron and Hermione are gone- Draco is living with psychopaths- and Luna-" Ginny weeped. Earlier that day, Ginny was informed the death eaters had taken Luna, and no one knew where she was. "Please- please just keep them safe." She whispered, looking to the sky. "They are all on their own and I can't help. I can't do anything."
Just as Ginny was about to give up hope, the star shon brighter, and a small voice in her head spoke.
'We will look over them. They shall all be safe.'
Gasping a fresh breath of relief, Ginny slid down the window and sobbed herself to sleep.
"Draco?" The voice of his mother spoke.
Cracking his eyes open, Draco was met with the blinding light of the morning sun.
"Son, you leave for school today- hurry up and get ready." His mother demanded.
"I'm up, I'm up." Groaned Draco, rolling out of bed.
"I thought you'd be more eager to head back to Hogwarts since you haven't seen your little Weasley in so long." Narcissa said, smirking.
Like lightning, Draco sprung from his bed and leapt into action, grabbing the closest pair of trousers and shirt. Narcissa smiled to herself as she walked back towards the door, the quick shuffling of feet making her smile.
"Listen Draco, I understand that girl means a lot to you, but you have to put the family first. You must complete your mission-"
"Or he'll kill us. I know, mother." Draco finished, pulling on his last bit of clothing.
"Draco, you have to understand what you're father and I are doing to protect you. Once the war is over then you can run of to the sunset with the Weasley girl, but not now." She pleaded, desperately.
"I'm sorry mother. I don't want to be the reason for your worry, so to put you at ease, I shall focus on the plan. Ginny can come after. Anyway, I'm not sure she'll want much interest in me after what I'm going to do." He sighed, sitting on his bed.
Frowning, Narcissa walked up to him, and sat beside him, placing an arm around his shoulder.
"You love the girl?" She asked, which, after a beat, Draco took his eyes off the ground and looked his mother dead in the eye.
"Yes."
"And she loves you?"
At this Draco turned silent. They had never told each other they loved the other- just assumed. Up until now, Draco was content with that.
"Er- I think so..." Draco answered, as Narcissa frowned again.
After a pause of silence, Narcissa sighed, then smiled.
"We'll, you know you love her, and that's enough for me. She makes you happy?" She asked, as Draco nodded his head fiercely.
"More than happy- she makes me a better person." He stated.
"Okay then." Narcissa said. "Are you... intimate with her?" She asked, as Draco suddenly felt very awkward.
"Mother." He groaned, but was silenced at her stern gaze.
"We have not gone below the clothes before." He said, fidgeting for the conversation to be over.
Nodding her head, Narcissa stood, and pulled out his already packed trunk.
"Are you ready?" She asked, as Draco nodded, standing up.
Walking onto the platform, Ginny trailed her eyes over the crowd; much smaller than the year before, but still big enough to make it hard for her to find the blonde. She thought she spotted a blade of bleach blonde hair, but as a tall wizard walked past her sight, her lead vanished, and Ginny was back to square one.
"Okay Ginny dear, I know you are the only one going to school, but I still want you to work hard and owl me weekly." Mrs Weasley spoke, wrapping a hand knitted scarf around Ginny's neck. "You work for those NEWTS just like your brothers did." Molly said, trailing off once she realised one of her sons still hadn't been able to finish his school year.
Sighing, Ginny wrapped her arms around her mother, kissing the top of her head- for Ginny was now an inch or two taller.
"It'll be alright, mum. He has Harry and Hermione. He'll come home soon." She reassured her, as Molly nodded.
"Oh. You are my favourite daughter." She smiled.
"I am your only daughter." Ginny chuckled.
"Right, get on that train little miss, before it leaves." Molly smiled, as Ginny picked up her luggage and walked it to the bagging area.
"Bye mum, I'll write to you." Ginny called.
"Love you!" Molly replied, as Ginny blew her a kiss, before placing her bag down and running onto the train.
Walking down the isle, Ginny searched for Draco, but the only blonde Ginny found was Luna.
"Luna!" Ginny cried, running up to her.
"Oh, hello Ginny-" she began, but Ginny kept onto her, pulling her into a tight hug.
"Are you okay? What happened? I read in the papers the death eaters got you and you were missing. When did you get back? How did you escape?" Ginny asked, quickly.
"I'm good thank you, no need to worry. They took me from my home and held me at Malfoy manor- rather cold down there, but Draco Malfoy lent me some fire flies in a glass to keep us warm. Gave us food to. Then Harry, Ron and Hermione came with Dobby and saved us." Luna smiled, chirpily.
"Wait, Draco was there?" Ginny asked, as she pulled Luna into a empty compartment.
"Yes- along with many death eaters." Luna smiled- causing Ginny to shake her head in confusion.
"And you've seen Ron, Harry and Hermione? They're okay?" Ginny asked, as Luna nodded, humming.
"Yes."
Sighing a long needed breath of relief, Ginny hugged Luna in happiness.
"That's great." Ginny smiled, tearing up.
"Water sprouts got your eye?" Luna spoke, "Harry had that to when Dobby died."
"Thank you Luna." Ginny sighed, "Let's find Neville."
Leaving the compartment, Ginny noticed a head of blonde hair, pale skin and silver grey eyes looking at her. A second later, he was gone, and Neville took his place.
"Ginny! Luna!" He exclaimed, as they made their way to a compartment, as Ginny tried to get those grey eyes out of her mind.
