"So, kids, hows Hogwarts doing?" Asked Molly, as the family sat for dinner.
"Yeah, hows the old school?" Asked Fred, fiddling with one of the twins inventions.
"Same old, same old." Said Ron, stuffing a bread roll into his mouth.
"It great, Mrs Weasley. The boys and I have been studying for our exams." Smiled Hermione, eating her food more delicately than Ron.
"Yeah- Hermione keeps us in line." Chuckled Harry.
"I'm sure she does. Ginny, dear, how is your time in Slytherin? I hope it's not long till you are moved back to Griffindor. What was Dumbledoor thinking? Moving children from house to house. It's unheard of. You haven't wrote to me since you moved- I had to ask Ron how you were, and you know how hopeless he is when it comes to words." She said, shaking her head.
"Good, mum- really good." Ginny answered, slightly distant.
Her mind had been worrying over Draco for most of the time she had spent of the burrow. The constant glowing of the stone keeping her sanity that Draco would be fine and hadn't lost his marbles, like all the other death eaters.
"How's the Harpies?" George asked.
"Great. But the training is so much harder than practices with Slytherin." She answered.
"You play for Slytherin?" Her father asked.
"Yeah- they're my house now."
"But Ginny- it's slytherin." Fred stated.
"Don't bother- we already tried." Ron said with a mouth full of food.
"It's just a game." Ginny whispered to herself, annoyed.
"Pardon?" Mrs Weasley asked.
Raising her head, surprised to be caught, Ginny thought fast on her seat to avoid a telling off.
"I've been moved up in potions, so I work with Ron and his year." Ginny said, "and I took my Astrology OWL."
"What? How could you have been moved?" Mr Weasley asked.
"Potions was easy- they moved me up, then I knew everything in astronomy so I took my OWL early. I'll take my NEWTs when I should be taking my OWLS." She said, for what felt like the 100th time.
"Oh my baby! Thank Merlin one of you have brains." Mrs Weasley squealed, getting up to hug Ginny, while the three Weasley boys rolled their eyes.
Crushing her in a tight hug, Ginny patted her mother's back as they broke the hug.
"Well done dear. I'm so thankful you are fitting in in Slytherin." She said.
The dinner went on nicely. They chatted about school life and how the twins work was doing.
After dinner, the twins left to go to their flat above their shop, while the kids left for Ron's room. As they arrived at their door, Ginny stood in the hall, while the trio hovered around the door.
"Sorry, Gin, but could we-?" Hermione asked.
Rolling her eyes, Ginny nodded and left for her room.
"Yeah- I know you three have to 'save the world'. It's fine- I'm used to it." She smiled, closing her bedroom door behind her.
She lay in her bed, gazing up at the ceiling. The last holiday, Fred and George were home, so when the Golden Trio had secret plans to discuss, at-least Ginny had them. Now she was alone.
She twiddled with her necklace Draco had given her, and tour her the crystal, as two small flames of light danced around her hand- as she and Draco had done.
She wondered what he was doing and if he was safe. She couldn't imagine a world without him.
"Keep your head low, and walk straight to your room- don't talk to anyone or make any detours. Lock your door and don't come out. If we pretend you're not here, the better." Lucius said, as they needed the entrance to the manor.
"You should have stayed at school." Narcissa repeated, worries for her sons safety.
"I'll be fine, mum. I'm a Malfoy." He said, as they entered the gates.
She gave him one last squeeze of his hand, before entering the house.
The faint fog of the black mist of death eaters cloaked the floor, and the whole house seemed to look 10 timed more dead. Old paintings that hung on the walls, were now ruined and scratch marks lined the walls. Broken pieces of glass and china dotted the floors, along with flakes of torn wall paper. Faint red hand marks of blood smeared patches of walls, it's bye never leaving.
Not believing his child hood home has turned into such a hell hole, Draco headed upstairs to his room, accidentally glancing into the entrance room. The back of a cloaked figure stood- his attire pitch black. His cloak was torn at the bottom, dried up blood hanging from the material, with dead leaves and twigs. Feeling as if he couldn't breathe he darted up the stairs, silently.
He practically ran down the landing, to his room, and looked, up and down the hall, to make sure no one was around as he slipped through his door. With trembling hands he closed the door behind him, and fumbled with the lock, till a soft click was heard. He placed a quick locking charm on the handle- just to be safe- and muttered a silencing charm, as he slid down the door and burried his face in his hands, breathing irregularly. His bag piled on the floor as tears escaped his eyes, as he realised just how fucked up his life was.
Crawling to his bed, and immersing himself in the flush covers, he curled up in a ball and let his emotions go. He clamped his eyes tight, as he felt his throat begin to tighten and his sides hurt from his weeps. His body began to shake with fear as images of the death eater fogged his vision. Cracking his eye open, an attempt of a break from his panic attack, he saw the scrap book Ginny made him, peak out from his bag.
Her voice began to grow in his head, her familiar melody calming him.
"It's okay, Draco. It's all going to be okay. Calm down. Just breathe. I'm here. Breathe." Her words ring in his head, comforting him as his breathing became deeper and his heart began to slow.
Closing his eyes, he thought he could see her face, before darkness consumed him.
